Holy crap that painted dash is awesome. I pick up my IB/W MC Thursday morning.

I have the black leatherette, I wonder if that would look good with the standard interior? What does everyone think? Man I just absolutely love that dash!!

Damn! Did I mention how much I love that dash!!! Yep I can't help myself I will have to copy your idea...

Nice choice.

Mine has the clear bra installed over the stripes. Not bad, if you look closely (at the actual car, not picture) you can see a little air gap between the stripe and film. I had the dealer install it before I picked my car up last week, it was $595.

Wishing I had a camera the car was supposed to be black mirrors and top and it came in with white mirrors. The factory must have run out of black caps and didn't want to hold up the line. The dealer had to swap with another car.

Wow! This dashboard thing is getting out of control. I got a PM last night from someone in Frankfurt Germany interested in knowing all about it and how it was done.

My little Nittany is world-famous! I wonder if she'll still speak to me.

Hi Jerseygirl,

Love the Mini. I think you now have one of the coolest Mini's in the US.

I don't know if you are goping to do futher upgrades to the interior, but something to consider is to upgrade to the Lapis Blue shift ****, handbrake boot, and gear selector gaiter. The shift **** that you have now is already leather so that would only be a colour change. The brake lever and gear selector boots that come with the car are vinyl. Upgrading them gives the interior a great finishing touch to it.

When I upgraded to the black panther leather brake boot, even the service people at the dealership told me how much nicer the interior looks now.

Just something to consider.

Good luck with the car!

Steven

Hey Steve, I have already thought about doing just that. It will be a short wait though. I want to take care of the clear bra, the skid plate, and new stripes before I get into anything else.

The Moss skidplate (metal) replaces the factory one (plastic) and extends back further to protect the power steering cooling fan.

Wise choice Robyn, the skid plate was my first mod, and its haved my butt (and Blubelle's oil pan) on more than one occasion already.

It's not a matter of wet vs. dry driving. Without the skidplate or some other protection the fan can suck in any lightweight debris, such as plastic bags, that you happen to drive over.

doesn't have to be lightweight either. I ran over a 6" x 6" Semi- truck wheel chock that fell off a rig in front of me on the interstate. Ouch, but no damage.

I don't have it yet so I can't say for sure how easy it is, but it apparently mounts using the same holes as the factory skidplate. Moss-Mini has a stainless steel one and a black powder-coated version. I'm going to get the stainless. I think it's $170. The powder-coated is less.
