Looking at an 04-miles too high?

I am going to look at a Blue non-S with 90,000 miles
5 speed

I have not taken a look at the build month to determine if it has a Midlands or Getrag tranny.

Also do not plan on purchasing if it still has the original clutch.

http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail...0&aff=national

Place is asking $13,000

Any opinions?

Thanks !

here's a collection of experience regarding high mileage - a bit more MCS than MC, but hopefully helpful

Thanks for the links.

They are asking crazy prices of 02-04 Mini Coopers with 80,000-120,000 miles from 14,000-18,000 here.

Found a Yellow 03 MCS with all options for $14,000 with 83,000 miles where as another place has an 03 non-S with 70,000 miles for $17,000

I'm not in a hurry and will just wait for thr right one within my budget

I have a 2003 with 30k on it that I would take $11k for if anybody would show up with the money, so to me it seems high.

dansmini,

Took a look at your Mini on your profile gallery, real nice

Wish you were closer.

Is the used auto market really slow up in the Ohio area?

Thanks for the kind words. As for the used car market, I'm not sure, really. I've never put the car up for sale officially other than a couple of posts on this board. I'm not really looking to get rid of it, just saying if someone offered me 11k for it, I'd take it and move on.

Just drive around with a For Sale sign on it, you'll find plenty of people calling with gas prices the way they are.

Well I don't have to worry about checking out the Mini.

The place sold it within 48 hours.

I have found most used MINIs commanding fairly high prices. Any at $13K or less are usually gone in a flash. The great resale value makes a new one more attractive but that option is not for everyone.
Last week I looked at an '04 with 71K miles for $16K. Best they would do was $500 off but I was not interested due to miles. Today on my way to test drive a new MINI I passed that dealer and it was gone. So they are selling which is a good thing. I think if any one is considering used, you have to be ready to pull the trigger as soon as you find one you like.

On Edit> Dansmini- If your car had an AT (DW requirement) I'd be at your house this weekend! Nice car! John you should take a road trip...
