This cracks me up

If the one thing JDPower hits MINI about is the CupHolders in the car. . .
Man, Am I Blessed to have ordered myself such a fine automobile!

I have a "no eating zone" in my current car and I don't eat allot of junk foods and the inside of the car stays clean! I will not mind at all having a "no eating or drinking zone in the MINI"!

When I see large drinks I think "we'll have to stop for the bathroom"!
Thanks, but No Thanks!

This is great, Pebbles!

I suggest we start a contest on MCO. Perhaps it calls for a new thread. We can ask folks to post pictures of the dirtiest interior of a Cooper or MCS. Let's find someone who has really trashed it. You know, wrappers, spilled drink stains, dirt, gravel and salt...the whole works! Don't forget petrified french fries.

Perhaps the folks at Zaino can offer a prize to the winner

I think basically it boils down to the fact that Euro car companies are not as obsessed with size as Americans. Of course the big Amercan companies will provide 20 cupholders in their vehicles because we Americans drink 64oz sodas 3 times a day. Of course the Japanese companies ar going to give decent cup holders because they make most of their money on us Americans. The MINI is for tea drinkers so get over it.

Oh yeah, MINUSA should not have to provide a cupholder for us.

Ditto on all counts here. I suppose the folks complaining about such things as cupholders would like to 'super-size' their cars, maybe they'd prefer a SUV or minivan interior option!! We bought MINI's, folks, cars w/ a center mounted speedometer, for Pete's Sake!! That being said, I must admit that I did buy and like very much the design, etc. of the MINIfini cupholder, but I certainly don't expect MINIUSA to reimburse me. A quick question, and one I honestly don't know the answer to: how large are the cupholders in the BMW X series, or MR2's, Miata's, Nissan ZX's, and Porsche Boxters?

Well, my mom's X5 has cupholders that are about the same circumference as the MINIs with no height restriction. You can't, however, fit anything larger than a medium softdrink from Wendy's in there. Again in the same vehicle, there are two more holders in the back that are no larger. A grand X5 total of 4 cupholders. I'd say the MINI is a great value and here's why: in such a small car we get 3 holders as opposed to 4 in a much larger SUV. Also I think it's a great value b/c my dad's 3 series only has 2 (!) cupholders (One of which you can't use b/c the center console flip thingy covers it--now there's a height restriction for ya!). I think the MINI is very generous in cupholders and still wouldn't install the MINIfini holders even if MINI paid me to take them.

I'm back! The founder of this poll!
I'm now officially close this poll!

WHY?

I dont think everybody have already knew that MINIUSA WILL SUPPORT FREE CUPHOLDER!!!
MINIs are ship between sep03-feb04 will have the cupholder for free, it will be install at the VDC local before it gets to the dealer!!

I think now everybody should know why i set this poll.

[when my MINI gets to the dealership]
I will promptly rip out that stupid add-on cupholder!
I will be MAJOR irate if the add-on cupholder adds any holes or sticky-goo or anything that mucks up my fresh interior

---> Chris, I would gladly pay you to hijack the VPC when my car's there to make sure they don't put the cupholder in mine! What's it worth? $250? (I'm not joking)

Better idea: Ship the damn add-on cupholders to the dealership and have them throw it at you IF YOU WANT IT. What a waste of money

hey ryan!
chill!
the cupholder is the MINI FINI it is mods free parts.
I dont drink while i'm driving(of course i do when i drive more than 2 hours)in the city, which is 98 % of my driving time.
i dont need any extra cup holder to hold my drinks since i got 2 in the car already.

Think! cup-holder does not only hold cups. it is pretty good for my phone, my PDA, my MD and whatever handy stuff you have. it gives you a instant access to certain thing.

Of course, only people like me(have a lot of junks with me all the time) will like to have a extra arm for the driver.

It is not something add to the bumper, it is not something block you sight, it is not something have a ugly color, it is not even something big in your car.

What is the deal.

Hey, seriously, if you really hate the cupholder, why dont you ship it to me(of course for FREE) when you get it. i'll be happy to pay shipping!

They had better be able to take that OUT w/o scratching the silver paint!!! That thing is ugly and I can't believe they don't just give you the cost-free option of wanting it upon car delivery. What a dumb move to do this, Geez...

PS I don't know why it's so funny ( ) that MINI is supporting this. I think it's downright disgusting.

As the President and CEo of Audi once said:
"If Americans want cup holders, let them go to KMART"

Personally I don't use the front cup holder that much cause the cup holder in the rear of the center consul works just fine for me.

Is cup holder one word or two?

Chris---> no problem, I'll gladly ship it to you!

MGear, that quote is perfect! (love the irony that Kmart is almost out of business, [evil grin at the connotation])
