I miss my MINI

So, It's been day three without my MINI, I'm working out of country. I'm in Monterrey Mexico, I have no car, can't speak spanish, and alone. Anyone else get MINI sick.

Five more days to go, until I'm home

I was pretty sick when mine was in the body shop for 7 weeks. I got it back for a week, then took it back so they could fix their screwups. That was a week and a half ago. Trust me, I feel your pain (not about the alone in Mexico part, though )

The first time I left home without my MINI I was left driving my mother's bus of an Escalade EXT (the pickup version). It was depressing, and if I'm being honest, probably dangerous

So now I just road trip wherever I need to go whenever possible! I love driving and a road trip just means I get to drive longer!

I understand the MINI withdrawels, it hurts. As for Mexico, take a taxi and enjoy the food (some of the best), and the people, the locals understand turistas.

Yeah whenever I have to take a trip (with the whole family requiring the use of the SUV) it becomes painfully obvious how much you are spoiled by small things like on tap acceleration, dead straight steering and fast cornering.

I miss my Cooper every time I have to get out of it!

If I knew my in-laws' contact information there, I'd just send you to my wife's grandmother.

But, yeah, go out and eat some cabrito! :p

At least your MINI withdrawal is only for a week. Think of those who PCS and must wait a month or longer!!!

So far everyone I have met in Monterrey have been very nice, so that helps getting through the days.

We've taken to hiring MINIs on our vacations, so we don't have to suffer something else. Last year we couldn't quite make that work out, so we had a Cooper-S for a week around the highlands of Scotland (great driving roads). But then had to swap him for a Ford focus for the next week. We were lamenting that it wasn't a MINI all week.

Did somebody say cabrito???? mmmmm......

As far as MINI withdrawal goes I'm with you on that one too. I've been in the Middle East for almost 6 months now. I miss my Cabrio somethin' fierce. Only a couple more weeks though. w00t!!!!

I'm back!

Got back to Canada last night, yeah!. Mexico was a very neat experience, everyone I worked with was very nice, even know I didn't speak there language. Went for a drive in my cooper today, and theres nothing like a mini. I treated myself to a outmotoring arm rest, and a whalen today, can't wait to install them!
