SNAP! When closing full open sunroof

Have had my 04 MCS since Christmas and love it. Have the sunroof in tilt most times. Today had it fully opened. Closed fine for a couple of stops. Did just fine yesterday (Sat 08053) too. However, get home today and closing the sunroof makes a load snap, like a rock hit the glass, noise. Checked out from fully open to close and there's an arm that comes up on both sides of the sunroof. I suppose they guide the sunroof into place. Passenger side arm lifts and snags for a moment on the corner of the frame around the glass. Closes ok, but the noise is scary , From a tilt or just a little farther than tilt no snag, but from a fully open position to close makes ya feel like you're under attack. Anyone got an idea of the (better be easy) adjustment?

If youre on good terms with your dealer they might be able to have a no cost tweak that they could do. Never hurts to give them a call and see if theyve heard of it. Good luck!

Sounds to me like your guides are dirty and need lubricated. See bottom of this post: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ad.php?t=73456

same deal here

i had the same problems about a month ago. sunroof worked and SOUNDED fine every time then one day..SNAP!! you are right thought...scares the heck outta ya when you first hear it. all i did was open the roof, use some glass cleaner and a few q-tips to clean all the tracks...then lube the heck out of it with white grease. made a bit of a mess on the outside of the roof but after opening and closing it a few dozen times the sound went away and a power wash cures the goopy mess .

trust me here...if that ends up being the biggest problem with your MC...you are one lucky dude
