Ragtop sunroof PIC request!

I have been really thinking seriously about getting one of these. Anyone ever put one on or seen one on a Mini?

I know they are very popular with the Mini Truck scene.

If your car has a sunroof now, I do not think it can be installed. You need a fresh roof, so to speak. Unless you are willing to cut a bigger opening.

when i was looking at sunroof parts at realoem.com one day (i lke to look at all the MINI parts diagrams ), they have what looks to be an OEM MINI ragtop sunroof top on there. it looks interesting and as if it could replace the glass sunroof? fits up to build date of 6/2004. never seen one in person though.

here's a picture of it part # is 54110150731:

there was a post on this on motoringfile a while ago. it's very expensive (like $2k+ plus install) and very very rare here, and like already said not compatible with glass sunroof. i have seen one mcs here w/ it or something similar installed. i like it a lot, looks cool and real fun and classy. webasto might make one, too

the link in there is very useful ( http://motoringfile.com/files/Folding_Roof.PDF )

I talked to a webasto(unsure of spelling) rep here in Las Vegas about the rag top. He said it is very loud and didn't recommend installing one.

I used o have an air bagged Dodge Dakota. I was going to truck shows alot back in the day and I have seen tons of the sliding ragtops. Some were even electric. I just figured since the Mini had such a nice big roof it would be cool to install one.

Bump...

No one on here has ever put a sliding ragtop in a mini? Should I be the first? I have read alot about them lately. The older ones leaked but the new ones are made very well and dont leak if installed well. Is there any braces in the roof I should know about? I think I will also add a under car brace to make up for somr of the roof being gone.

Has anyone similar roof fitted?

I'm thinking on a AC Schnitzer roof or Webasto roof, but I can't found good fotos and experiences about them tfitted on MINIS. Can you help me?

I have seen the kits that replace the factory sun roof.. But I want to cut my roof open and get a custom sized sliding top.

so has anyone gotten the webasto version? It looks to be the same kit that was offered via AC Schnitzer. I'm really interested to hear feedback from someone who has one. I'd hate to spend 2k+, only to find it's really noisy.

Street beat customs sells sliding tops. Pre made sizes or custom made sizes.

Anyone ever see one on a Mini?

I have the same ones on my site, for cheaper than streetbeat, same manufacturer. Contrary to popular belief, Streetbeat No longer manufacturers their ragtops. Streetbeat was sold to new owners, but the ragtop portion was kept by the previous owner. Anyways, if you yave any questions about them, call me 480.213.9618. My wife has an 04 mini. I told her if her sunroof ever goes out, I was going to replace it with a ragtop. I would love to see someone do it!!
I am not trying to advertise, so if you are interested, call or email me
