R50/53 Mini Problem?
I have recently got the delivery of my 2003 dark Silver MCS, its a sex machine i tell you guys. I was told by the dealer that it is the best lookin Mini in my country "Bahrain". I had the car for a week now, I found an air bubble in my windshield that would require it to be changed. Another problem was that when i pushed the passenger seat forward to get someone in the back, it wouldn't go back to its right position so i had to take it to the dealer the same day to get it fixed! It took two minutes to get it fixed but i was very annoyed. After recieving the car, i still heard a spring rattle from the same 'pressy'. so i need to take the car back again.
I just want to know whether anyone else encountered similar problems or is it my luck!

Keep in mind this is still a first-year production car. I had the transmission cable problem a couple months ago, and also a pinched fuel line that wouldn't allow the tank to pressurize the first week I had it. But since then, no problems except not enough time to spend with my MINI!
No car is perfect, and since MINI is in the spotlight, it seems to amplify the problems. Now, that doesn't excuse the flaws, but all cars have em. That's why they provide a warranty and lemon laws.

No problems here, but have noticed that the seats are rather difficult to go back to their original position when I move them forward, but mine never got totally stuck. Hope I don't have problems as the closest dealer is several hundred miles away!

>>I just want to know whether anyone else encountered similar problems or is it my luck! Hi, Ghaffry! Congrats on your new MINI! The problems you've mentioned are NOT unknown. Earlier builds, prior to May, I believe, had some instances of faulty windshield (windscreen) installation, causing the windshield to crack. Also, many had troubles with the seat mechanisms, too. Search through the various forums from May & June and you'll see that you are not alone. However, these problems should be repaired under warranty, so take your MINI to the service manager and insist on repairs! Good luck and enjoy! Happy motoring!
Cheers!
