No run-flats, or are you trying to go easy on the car?

Ouch!

Nomo, hobe you've got that electric blue nailpolish on, it ought to be good for a discount.

Hope the replacement goes well.

I hope nothing ever happens like that to Jack but I bought the insurance for the tires when we bought him. Good luck!

nomonstersinme,
Sorry to hear about your ailing tire that was gashed some time ago. Doesn't any MCO member live close enough to spare a runflat? How about all those that have wheel upgrades?

Monsters,

are you crazy, don't tow it that will cost as much as a tire also don't buy a tire from the dealer that will cost you more than the tire from a tire shop. take your rim off and leave your car at home. get a ride or borrow another car and take your rim to the tire shop and have them put a new tire on. you will save alot that way. worst case it will cost you 160 to 200. but if you have to pay dealer labor 60 to 80 per hour and towing you are probably looking at a 400 dollar tire.

apparently you cant get those run craps anywhere but mini dealers. i called someone gave him the specs for the tire and he goes "oh for a mini, nah no one stocks those"
i can't believe i'm not gonna have my car for 3 days for a stupid tire! i hate run-craps!

I have seen the Pirelli runflats at tirerack.com- you might check there or change over to non runflats at some point.

How close to a MINI delaer do you live? Or is the car too far away at this point?

It probably too late for nomonstersinme but everyone else should visit their local tyre shoppe to see if they stock the runflats in case of emergency. My local store stocks it. However, even if they didn't, usually another store in the chain would have it in stock. This is especially important with the dealerships being so far away from many owners.

Any of the MINI dealers have one in stock? You might also want to post a wanted ad and see if any NY/NJ owners have extras or access to such.

Buy some Yok's for about $400 and a can of fix-a-flat. Kiss the runcraps goodbye.

Nomo, this may be way too obvious (and thus you've already tried it), but why don't you call TireRack (use their 800#) and just order it from them and have 'em fedex it to you? It may cost an extra $50, but they can probably have it to you by 10am tomorrow morning.

Goodyear or Pirelli? Just curious, and maybe someone has a take off or so and could respond more helpfully if you specified just which tire you're looking for.

Right. It makes total sense that a MINI dealership wouldn't stock something as simple and necessary as a MINI tire

This company is becoming less and less joyful by the minute.

Sorry, NoMo, it's obviously ridiculous that your car should be taken for 3 days just to get a tire. Good luck!

thanks guys... i don't want to risk this taking longer than it already has to.
omtoast, i called mini usa to file a complaint about this... they said they'll file it but tires are not under warranty so they have the option to not carry them.
to which i said, if you're gonna sell a car without a spare, and make it have tires that you can't really get anywhere else you better make sure the dealers have them, do you not expect that a heavily populated area like NY, with tons of potholes, will not get flats!?
and they don't even offer loaners so i'm stuck basically. i can't wait to get new wheels and tires and get rid of these pieces of crap. i should charge them for holding my car for 3 days.
