>>thanks guys... i don't want to risk this taking longer than it already has to.
>>omtoast, i called mini usa to file a complaint about this... they said they'll file it but tires are not under warranty so they have the option to not carry them.
>>to which i said, if you're gonna sell a car without a spare, and make it have tires that you can't really get anywhere else you better make sure the dealers have them, do you not expect that a heavily populated area like NY, with tons of potholes, will not get flats!?
>>and they don't even offer loaners so i'm stuck basically. i can't wait to get new wheels and tires and get rid of these pieces of crap. i should charge them for holding my car for 3 days.

So, what is your game plan if you get a flat after you get your new wheels and, I assume, non-run-flat tires? Are you going to keep a spare in the back? Are you going to carry an air pump and/or fix-a-flat? Or are you going to get the hatch-mount spare tire kit?

I have no issues (other than the hard ride) with the run flats. I have gotten a bunch of flats when hitting potholes in regular tires (on my old cars) and my Runflats take the beating. Plus you can drive up to 50 miles on the tires, try using fix a flat on a regular tire after you slash the sidewall open after hitting a famed NYC pothole.

That makes the case for getting a spare wheel, at least to keep at the dwelling. You could have switched it yourself and not had to be at the mercy of the stupid.

I think I'm going to make sure I have an extra wheel handy for such inconveniences.

Fix-a-flat is fine for holes, but won't help you with a big gash, particularly a sidewall gash. A pump wouldn't help there either. Just get a flare gun.

You can knock run flats all you want, but the simple fact is that a regular tire would not have lasted that long with a gash, and you shoulda probably ordered the new tire when you first got the gash. I like my run flats, they are there when you need em most.....and like Doug said, they def take a beating. Its nice having the donut in the Cooper though.

On a side note, your right techs mess stuff up. Changed my oil, came home....had an oil leak, brought it back...came home.....oil leak still there. Going back AGAIN! Also one of my rally lights is out. I SWEAR THIS CAR IS CURSED!
