For 2004 this is a new option.... I am upset.. I really hope that this can be enabled on the 2003 and 2002 models as well. I bet that it's just a software update. Hmm... Time to look.

Here is where I got this info from http://www.fasthatchbacks.com/newsst...=25&type=1

i hope it can be retrofitted also.

i whined and complained on the other forum about having to look over to the center of the car at the speedometer and suggested the exact thing they did: replacing the stupid temperature readout with digital speed.

i still don't like looking over to the center at the "cute," retro, fashionable, but un-ergonomic speedometer.

p.s. minipilo, if you are looking for a new product to develop, how about what i really want: a segmented arc LCD tach and a digital speedo that i can put right in my line of sight above the steering wheel. the wheel blocks most of my tach.

It looks great as an option. I wish I had this with my 2003 MCS.
But I also prefer looking at the rev counter to understand my speed.
e.g.) 3000 rev with 5th gear means about 60 mph...

I would like this option. I usually have my Garmin Streetpilot in front of me and that gives me a GPS calculated speedometer which is pretty cool and more accurate too.

I understand why people want this, and it does totally make sense... but if you're going to to that, it makes the giant speedo somewhat useless... you might as well get a NAV system..

I think I heard something about this being added to one of the packages for 2004. I also heard the cost of Package 1 and 2 will go to $1300.

I think the digital speed readout is going to be standard on all 04's.
