I am driving 126 miles tomorrow to go test drive some MINIs at the Towson MD Dealer. I can't wait to get behind the wheel of one. My wife is hoping that I won't fit in comfortably so that we get a VW Jetta. I am a rather large fella 6'2" and around 290 lbs. She thinks it will be a tight fit so I have started a workout routine and a diet!!! I hope she will fall in love with it after the test drive! Wish me luck!

I'm 6.2, but only 185 and I fit fine. My dad is 6 even and 240ish and he fit fine too. The wife will shut up about the jetta when she drives a MINI.

Welcome to MCO,

At 290 Lb. you might be a little tight in a MINI. Check out both the standard and the sport seats for comfort and support. Enjoy your test drive, and take your checkbook for the deposit. I just know that if you try a MCS you'll fall in love with it, and have to have one.

The MINI is very roomy. As others have posted, you shouldn't have any problem. But hey, if you did lose some weight, you'd also gain horsepower in the car, since it would be lighter.

Hope you enjoy your test drive! My advise...savor every moment. If you order one, you may have to wait months before your next chance to motor in a MINI. That's what happened to me and it drove me nuts! I took delivery 3 months after my test drive which by then was a far distant memory. As much fun as a test drive is, I appreciate my MINI more and more driving it every day. There are little nuances to this car that can best be experienced over time. Hope the wifey is impressed!!!

Well I test drove both MINIs and my wife and I both love the car and I fit in it very well!! We drove a regular MINI first and that was fun but then we got to drive a MINI S with the J.C. Works kit on it...MAN I need one so bad!! My wife was impressed with the roominess of car. We were both impressed with the feel of the car it felt very solid the doors when you closed them if felt like a big car. It drove like a hoped it would tho!! I needed to give it a good bit of gas to get first gear going but I was also still trying to get used to the clutch. But once I got it going it went!! My wife was gropping for the "oh ****" handles on the MINI S Works ride. The Towson MD dealership was very busy and it was hard remaining patient but finally Ben came over and took us for the rides. He had a perfect route for test drives. Lots of tight turning road!! We loved the feel of the car taking the bends the MINI felt like it was riding on rails and really stuck to the road. I took a few of the corners fast and it never slipped or skidded. Overall I would have to say that was the most fun ride I ever had at or near the speed limit! I can't wait to open on up and push the envelope on the car!

Aloha and welcome to MCO-
Good to hear you had a good test drive. The JCW kit MCS are hard to find but you might be able to order one if you are lucky and others in your area are not as eager as you are. Best of luck- put in your order soon or buy a MCS in stock and get on the JCW kit waitlist.
