R50/53 TIJ: how many times makes you a geek???
I've seen it twice and I'd go again in a heartbeat!
I love the look of the Chili Red car and never thought twice about the Aero Kit until I saw that movie. After the 2nd time seeing the movie, I made up my mind that I had to order my car with that total kit!
See I thought the movie cost $8 twice = $16
but in the end that movie cost me $2716 !!!
and I'm going to love that MCS when it gets here!!!

I was thinking about going AWOL from work next week for a few hours to see the movie as my boss will be out of town.

Well, I've seen it twice but there's another movie that I've been watching since... jeez... must be 1979.
Back then, I was really into bicycling. I was stationed in San Antonio at Lackland AFB and hung out with friends who liked nothing better than to go riding. Anywhere from 25 to 120 miles on Sundays. Heck... we did a 600 mile tour in the Hill Country in a week.
I also worked part time at what was then was called San Antonio Community Hospital working the weekend night shift in the lab. So, it was quite common to work from 11 PM on Saturday night (really, really hated missing Saturday Night Live but could watch it in the SICU unit if there was an empty room!) until Sunday morning at 7 AM. Then, meet the group and go riding.
This was when the swimming area in New Braunfals (sp?) was called Stinkly Falls. I hear there's some kind of water park there now. Back when the only *real* bicycle shop with real cycleing clothing and shoes was in Austin. Back when the shorts were made out of wool and and if you got wet, you really did smell like a dog.
So, round about 1979, 'Breaking Away' came out and the cycling crowd really did eat it up. My daughter, 14, is amazed that I still watch today and that I can still remember some of the dialog.
I can't begin to count the number of times I've watched it and now have it on DVD. Sick... I know.
I suspect TIJ will be the same.
Have a great weekend all!
