we just got back from chilis. yum--leftovers in the fridge. anyway, when we pulled into the parking lot we were greeted by a royal blue mini with the union jack painted on the white roof and also little mini (no pun intended) union flags painted on the white parts of the side view mirrors.

we had to do a double take because this wasn't a new mini, but a blast from the past (60's i guess). it obviously had found its way across the atlantic because the steering wheel was on the european side (either that or it belonged to a mail man)

the uk license plate on the front said:

yeah, i'd say so. we had to make a wide berth around it to keep from getting drool on the bonnet (which had white stripes) or the fog lamps.

i'll be prowling for him/her on the streets of ocala when i am able to obtain the object of my obsession. i hope to order it some time in october.

 

Woah that is awesome! I have never seen a classic Mini in person....there is a gentleman in our yahoo group that has one however and he says he is going to try to make it to one of our upcoming meets with it....that would rock!

 

Original Mini's are fantastic! So tiny and spunky...just watch them go! My brother-in-law got a brand-new 1967 Cooper S for his high school graduation present, red with black roof, and had some great adventures in it. The original wheels are 10," which is the size of our new MINI's disk brakes!
