I noticed the owners lounge will (should) allow you to download a MINI manual. Well, I haven't taken delivery yet and production is scheduled for 9//27/02 and I can't yet download a soft copy of the manual.

Does anyone have a copy of the MINI Cooper S manual on-line anywhere that I can read through it? I know my car will be an '03 and any soft copy manual would likely be an '02 but that is just fine.

Help feed my irrational need to read more about a car I don't even have yet, please?

Thanks in advance,
Dave Quick

I may be wrong, but I think the same manual covers both the Cooper and the S

Davequick,

You need either the production or VIN numbers to get it off the MINI site.

Congrats on ordering your MCS

Nope, the '03 online manual is not out yet. I have the same problem. Does anyone have an '02 manual they could up-load to the site?

Make sure you have the Adobe Acrobat Reader software on your computer.

Got it. The problem is, when you type in a production number for a 2003 model car, a message comes up and says "Sorry, the Owners Manual for the 2003 MINI is not yet available on-line." So if anyone has a 2002 Manual in Adobe format, could you please please please upload it?

Yep - got the production # - my point is that the '03 manual is not on-line and it will not give me a link to the '02 manual - if you (or anyone) can forward me a copy of the manual, a pointer to the manual, etc. then I will have the manual and all will be good. I'll even find a nice place to go and post it on the web so that others will have access to it and we can then post the URL in this thread and close the thread.

I am happy and excited - looking forward to it - I have seen about 10 MCS in the Columbus, OH area now (of course I drive by the dealership and see the cars waiting for delivery so it's cheating a bit) so I am really looking forward to getting MY MCS.

Thanks in advance to anyone that can send me a copy of the manual so I can have some free-reading material that does not center itself around software development.

BTW - There is an 'unauthorized manual' that pokes fun at traditional manuals that is distributed by MINI to owners that have had delivery of their car and provided an email address: Unauthorized Manual. But, I'm still looking for the REAL manual in PDF format.

Looks like you will be getting two copies... Oh well, you can never have too much Mini related stuff.

I will send one to you now. It is about 1MB as a zipped file, so it may take a few minutes for me to send. If anyone knows how to upload a file to the site, let me know so others can download this directly.

OK, rather than send this rather large file to everyone who wants it, I am creating a free homepage on yahoo. I will post the link here once the owners manual is available.

Awesome!

I also got a copy from Derek Weisbruch and Jim Brunner in my mailbox.

Now that there is a link in this thread to the geocities page everyone else can get at it as well!

Thanks everyone, now I have some lunchtime reading for tomorrow.
