Maximum load capacity 2002 MINI Cooper S

Hi what is the load capacity for the 2002 mini cooper s with pirelli euforia 84v tires? i read somewhere that says 948 lb. i hope it can load at least 600 lbs including me for about 40 miles.

Look in your doorjamb sticker for the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR). Subtract the curb weight of the car, which is probably around 2500 pounds, and the difference is how much you can carry, between passengers and cargo.

GVWR on my '04 MCS is ~3500, so the 948lbs sounds about right.

Yep - although I don't know how much fuel is included in the "curb weight" of the car, so you may lose some weight capacity because of that.

Other than that, normal car-packing rules apply - keep heavier items close to the floor and forward of the rear wheels, make sure everything's secured tightly, and make sure your vision is unobstructed. Also, put a little extra air in your tires, as recommended by the doorjamb placard.
