Yes, there was a recall issued for a transmission wire. Someone else on here posted exactly what parts should be replaced...I just got mine back (it took a week!). I would bet your dealer will take care of it before delivery...

Yes, went in to have my sheels changed out - 16" to 17" and they mentioned the recall. I waited for the car took about 2.5 hours.

I believe that there has "officially" been a recall regarding the shift linkage cable on Coopers, apparently built May '02 or earlier. BMW/Mini has been very slow to get this notice out. On the home page of this website I submitted a post regarding the shift linkage repair. That post (and others on the site) has more info, phone number to contact Mini, etc.

 

slameddy, I don't think the recall will apply to your car, since it's not arriving until September. My understanding is that it was only relatively early production cars that were affected.

Also fuel cut=off before idle, engine stumbles with AC on before settling to idle, fix comes in Sept......

Do you know if that includes a fix to the cool start problem others have reported? Does the AC need improvement and will these all be corrected on the 2003 models?
