Nope. It's not going away. It's just that now you will be able to see the speed in the digital readout on the tach as well as the regular speedo. I can't see MINI ever getting rid of the center mounted speedo.

- Pepper white for Cooper S
- Velvet Red deleted for Cooper (need to make room for future convertible colors)
- Cordoba Beige available in sport seats (Cooper and Cooper S)
- 3 Spoke Leather Sport Steering Wheel
(Phase in 12/1/03 for Cooper and Cooper S)
- Leather Basic Steering Wheel (phase out 11/30/03 for cooper)
- Rear Power Socket will return as standard
- Digital Speed Read-out in Tach will be standard (switch between Temp and Speed)
- On Board Computer will also include an instantaneous fuel consumption function
- Magnesium Door Casing will be dropped for Cooper S

04's will start arriving on our lot in October. We are ordering them now.

The price will go up a whopping $24.00 or so.

I would likw to answer some of your questions. First of all, yes we sell MINI's at MSRP. The three spoke factory installed option will be available starting September build. We are waiting to hear about the time frame for the rear fog lights. We can take your order at any time, and co-ordinate it's build date with the time you would need it.

Are they referring to the MCS perforated steering wheel that will be availble for all Coopers in '04?

 

Hmmm, no the steering wheel they were mentioing was the wheel in the MCS-
(the one on the forums for the 2004 changes)...

But I still want to wait for the factory rear-fogs, Motor City mini said late
November...

Someday I'll get the perfect MCS

 

Just got off the phone with 866-ASK-MINI, and was told of the following:

I ordered sensing wipers and auto dim mirrors, and it was not in my spec anymore.
When asked, the rep said sensing wipers and auto dim mirrors are now part of the
premium package. (It was in my spec a week ago)
He also said no changes to the key is planned.

Just thought I'd report what I was told.

866-ASK-MINI reps seem to be getting really confused now.
At first I was told rain sensing wipers and auto dimming mirrors are not in my spec, and is part of the premium package. The next day, another rep told me she sees rain sensing wipers and auto dimming mirrors in my spec, but now she does not see DSC anymore. After putting me on hold, she came back and said DSC is now "standard" on the MSC, and she was very sure about it.

My guess is that with the increased call volume from MCO members, they needed some BMW reps to work the MINI lines......
