question on some mods

hello, im new here, anyway i picked up a 2002 red mini cooper s with 62000 miles. Anyway i want to do some mods and my plans are a intake and exhaust with a pulley in the plans later on. Any way i was going to go with an alta intake, and on the exhaust i was thinking of a custom with jcw muffler, but my question is, does jcw even sell just the muffler? Any other advice is well appreciated. thanks in advance.

Congrats on your purchase and welcome to NAM! I'd like to help you on your exhaust, but all I have is a Milltek on my MCS.

Intake, exhaust and pulley are a great start. I don't think you can get just a JCW muffler. The JCW system is pretty quiet anyway, and the pipes aren't as big as most aftermarket systems. I believe you can get stand alone mufflers from Super Sprint - a few people here have built custom exhausts using those.

$675 @ Morristown MINI.

By the way, Morristown do not ship the exhaust though. Check your local dealer to see if they can match the price.

Here's an idea for an exhaust done custom.

The problem with a custom exhaust is deciding how to do it right and not loose power. Plus it takes labor to put it together.

To save money you can look for any used mufflers.

To save weight you can install a one sided muffler system like Alta or Quicksilver.

Some owners cut off one of the stock mufflers and leave the one on the driver's side (the one ball).

If you want better handling consider upgrading the suspension. With 62,000 miles it might be time for new shocks- consider the Koni FSD shocks.

No input on the exahust except --
Have you considered reversing your mod order: doing the pulley first and doing the intake/exhaust later on?
Although those mods are probably the top 3, I think you'll get more bang for your buck with the pulley and may want to bump that to the top of your list.
