New Custom exhaust done!

Well, I've been working on this project for a while. My goal was to replace my heavy m7 exhaust with a mean sounding straight through exhaust system. I also wanted more flames coming from my exhaust, which the m7 wound rarley do because it was too restrictive. I did a battery box delete and replaced my heavy OEM battery with a Deka (Braile) lightweight battery. The exhaust is 2.5" from the header with a Borla ProXS muffler and corvette tips (which fit suprisingly well...)... All I can say is it worked!

I will get some pics of the finished look tomorrow, but I have some sound clips from a couple test runs tonight....

From a standing start...

"Highway speed" driveby
http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...08169649&hl=en

Standing start with FLAME!!! You can see it around the 30 sec mark... The video quality is terrible though, and its hard to spot.... Oh, and don't mind the laughing... It was hillarious to see a foot long flame shoot out the back.

Thanks Guys!

IT doesn;t drone too bad when Im crusing off boost, but when it gets superheated from running it hard, it gets louder for a while and drones very bad.

Sure, I will try and get some today if the lighting is right. The ProXS is just a general flowthrough muffler.

Nice execution, I like the tips. That's off a C6 Vette and not one of the new ones right?

That sounds great! Can you post pics/details as to how you removed the battery box? Where did you put the Braille? I really want to do this with mine, just not sure how to go about it.
Thanks!

Ahh you're right, getting ahead of myself. C6 is the current model, so C5 it is. Any close ups of the flames? Sick for sure

EDIT: Wow I really just can't get over how good it sounds! You're making me want to do a resonator delete and cat-delete on my Borla Sport.

Its a tough job. Basicly, you have to cut the old box out, while avoiding the power cables, then weld or bolt a new floor in. I used 1/16" steel. After that, you just make brackets for the battery and make a cover. I used lexan skinned in a great automotive carpeting I've used on most of my car. heres a pic of the battery delete before I covered the levan in carpet:

minibeel: Ya, it has a test pipe. I doubt I would be able to get flames if i had a cat.

THoes were the only videos I could get last night before having to head back into the city. Its really hard to get a closeup of em because my camera sucks and you never really know when they are gona happen. I will try and get some footage next time i go to the strip though. With the nitrous, there should be some nice effects.

Nice. +whatever on the 'Vette tips. They look great.

I love the "at speed" video. I like how the first real sound you hear after the low approaching roar is the screaming supercharger.

Crazy, Ive got the same muffler and tips (not real corvette but knock off) sitting in my garage waiting to be installed. Ive been curious as to how its going to sound and now I know. Are you running a header or is it the stock exhaust manifold?
