Can you unsilence the S/C on an S?
VW uses a Lysholm style supercharger on their G60 corrados and Bahn Brenner makes a supercharger for the 2.0 motor. These superchargers sound
when they are unsilenced and pushed hard. they sound broken at idle. I am unsure if this is a trait to just these chargers or if the MINI charger can be "unsilenced"

If you get an intake you'll be able to "unsilence" the supercharger. It won't sound like those videos at idle, but once you get to mid-low RPMs you can hear the supercharger "whine" like those videos.

Right on guys. Like I said, I wasnt sure if that was something specific to the Lysholm chargers but I fell in love with that sound when I first heard it. And it sounds much better in person.
It's a great sound, but it's not a "mini" sound. Too unrefined for their market (don't take offense, I love the BB sound too). Don't the BB s-chargers also have a BPOV or BOV that you can hear?
Best you can do is the Alta (or other) CAI to unrestrict the airflow and hear the whine.
