09 Clubman JCW turbo question

Ok, totally new to Mini so excuse my crazy question, but I have had many S/C and Turbo cars. I currently have an Alpina B7, and an M6. I can clearly tell if my turbo is working.

I know this is nothing at all like those, but how can I tell if the Turbo is working or not? I really do not hear anything. I cannot gauge speed compared to what I am used to driving either. I know it is a silly question, but I just got the car 2 days ago, and am still checking things out. Thanks!

You should get a kick in the pants at 2500 rpm. Or get a dash command off iTunes and use it to check boost

Other than feeling like there is no power you can't really tell if its working or not by noise, as these cars stock are very quiet. As mentioned in the previous post, Dash Command helps a lot as you can scan real time data.

I will try dash command. I think I have an ODB2 to usb, and then a usb to get it to my Galaxy S5. I will see if that works with the trial. Helps now knowing that it is quiet though. I was expecting some kind of whine. Thanks!

Its best if you make your own thread instead of highjacking this one.
