I have been checking with regularity at this wonderful site as I not-so-patiently await delivery of my all silk green mini. During my time I have gone through an extensive brain drain in search of the perfect name. Name association came up with several candidates but it was after I happened to do a search on famous bulldogs that I hit the name that was perfect for me. English in nature and a champion by breed, hence "Aldridge" was born on August 12th.

To read up on aldridge, check the website below.
http://www.homestead.com/aldridgebulldogsuk/

What are some other cleaver names that others have come up with.

Tollag. Are pit bulls better because they bite the face off children? This has happened numerous times, so much so that they are banned in England. It was generally the family pet that disfigured or killed a child in the family. I wish you lots of luck if you own one. Ron. Better to just have a MINI.

I have both, and I must say, that pissed me off... Do have any idea of the number of Golden Retreivers, or Black labs seriously biting children, or even killing them. It all depends on how you train a dog... The reason the Pit Bull is so reveared is because it's the fastest, and one of the srtongest fighting dogs ever, and because of this people use them as Gaurd dogs.... When something does go wrong, it is then exploited, and they get banned in certain countries.... My Nikki is an angel!

I didn't get a chance to name my new MINI, that I got Saturday. My wife started calling it "Spunky". I think the name fits the cars peronality.

GI JOE, cool name for your MINI. Very creative. I am still struggling with a name for my MINI. Luckily, it won't get here until January.

Off subject. My step daughter has a 65lb pit bull and by far the best dog I've ever seen. Plays with all the neighbor kids and is very well trained, except when it comes to the MINI. You see when the door is open he automatically jumps in to the drivers seat. I have to explain he can't drive until he gets his license.

One of the things that sets the MINI apart from other cars is the fact that the owners treat them like they are a member of the family. A couple of months ago when I was doing searches for a good name for my future MINI my wife thought I was CRAZY!!

BTW, I'm not 100% sure, but I think my LY/W MCS will be named Tracy. It is a British name and it means: brave.

the bad name that Pit Bulls got was a combination of bad owners (quite a few of the dogs that attacked humans were trained as fighting dogs) and media overhype. Just like the southern church burnings about 5 years ago, the shark attacks last year, and just like the kidnappings today.

but more on topic...

As you can see down below, my MINI (on it's way) is the Mach 4... I'm a pretty big fan of Speed Racer and i figured hey, it's not as big, or fast as Speed's Mach 5, so, I guess it must be the Mach 4... Not to mention, it's red with white bits, and the Mach 5 is white with red bits...

(And the X in Rocketboy_X is stolen from Racer X)

Needless to say, I didn't name my Mini - My dad did. My dad is a totally young at heart sixty year old guy. When I bought my Mini, I had to learn how to drive a stick, so he'd drive it quite a bit. One day, after really having two people run off the road because they were sticking their heads out their car windows trying to get a look at my Mini as we drove past, he named her. He goes "I think Dolly's up on the roof again." I replied, "Dolly? what are you talking about?" His reply cracked me up...he so casually says, "With all the looks that this car is getting, Dolly Parton has to be on the roof of the mini shaking her you-know-whats." Keeping in mind that dad is from the era of Dolly Parton as the most well-endowed celebrity...that got a LOT of attention...my Mini was named. We'll be cruising (oops...MOTORING) down the road and he'll say "Well...Dolly's back on the roof." And it is kinda cute when he says "Well there goes Holly and Dolly." I know its kinda a cheesey story about how one Mini was named....but you have to admit...its kind of appropriate with all the attention it gets.

Rocketboy_X,
Mach 4. That's not bad. My sister wants me to name mine Hamtaro (very small, very cute, full of life and energy and he has a never say die attitude). A rodent with mad skills

I haven't decided on a name yet. I suppose I'll know when it finally arrives and I drive it home.

We've all lost it! We have suffered Mini-tosis, severe love and crazyness for a car!

Well, of course I named mine too.

Irrelevant dog arguments aside, this is a great topic, and I hope that I can get people interested in the discussion again.

I'm struggling with the perfect name for my Cooper. I'm thinking about Indi. I've seen some other great names out there, too. My favorites so far have been Maxine and Winnie Cooper

One of my customers named thier Pepper white MINI "Audrey" because we both decided that it looked like a car that audrey hepburn would have driven. Pure class!

I believe that I have selected the name for my MCS...Roxy. It the name of a song by Concrete Blonde from their newest CD...here's a small chunk..
sweeter sounds
from space were never heard.
or a perfect turn of word,
like a whirlwind,
you blow in again
& all the songs
have been in my head
& heart for o so long
It's like listening to a kiss.
oh, you'll never know
how very much we missed you,
dearest
Anyway, I thought it was appropriate

My 120 lb German shepard doesn't like the back seat too much, the seatbelt holders stick him in the belly. Usually I push the passenger seat all the way forward and tilt it forward also so he can sit in the back seat and hang his head out of the window......

Mine is named 'ITSA'. I was asked so many times what kind of car it was, I just decided to get a Euro tag and put it on the front of her. The tag reads "ITSA MINI'
Short but informative!!

I haven't decided on a name yet (waiting for March delivery).

So far, I'm thinking about Hawkeye (from James Fenimore COOPER's Last of the Mohicans). The vanity plate could even be 'HAWK I'.
