>>Tollag. Are pit bulls better because they bite the face off children? This has happened numerous times, so much so that they are banned in England. It was generally the family pet that disfigured or killed a child in the family. I wish you lots of luck if you own one. Ron. Better to just have a MINI.

I'm with you Tollag! Pitbulls are often raised to fight and are seriously abused. Just like humans - abused animals can become irrational at times. But if you do ANY research, you'll find that Pitbulls have one of the LOWEST incidence rates of attacks on people and are considered ONE OF THE FRIENDLIEST DOGS to people that exist!!!

I DO NOT have a pitbull (or any dog for that matter) but know several people who do. They are the nicest, most loyal and loving dogs I've ever known. And someday I probably will own one. Now I'll be sure to do my research and get a well-bred one. But I love them and can't wait to have one of my own. Check the research.

Ok, enough about dogs...Let's get back to MINI talk!

As soon as I got the call today that my baby has been ordered, I knew what to name her: Blanche!

Hey MotorinGirl, is that a reference to "A Streetcar Named Desire", or is there some other reason behind that name?

Soopa,

Yes! Love that play. And, of course, Blanche means white, so perfect for my pepper white MC!

We performed that play when I was in high school (many, many years ago). Guess which part I played?

Goofygrape - it's good to see another TP fan out there. (beware of the owls.)

if and when i get a Mini it will be named "Agent". as in "Agent Cooper". I never thought of just naming it "Dale". i like "Agent" better anyway.

I am as English as English gets and I can honestly say I have never heard of the name Aldridge. Not dissing your cars name, just saying that if you wanted to go for an authentic English name you could have picked better. Why an English name any way? I think we should call our minis Hans or Steffan, good old German names. Not really. My car is going to be graced with the name Fabio Longprong, after an "actor" in an "special" film I saw the other day.

It took us three days to drive home after picking her up and we went through several names, but nothing really stuck until it dawned on me...Red...hot...spicy...loved by many...she's "Tabasco", or "Tabby" for short.
It's really strange to me how we see these cars as living creatures, members of our families. I never understood that until I brought Tabby home. My family thought I was nuts, but even they say, "I left my keys with Tabby", or "Tabby is out, Mom, don't you think you should bring her in?" Do you guys talk to your Minis? I say good morning to her every day and ask how her day has been when I get in her at work. Is that not certifiable?

After having my MCS for a couple weeks and thinking what to name her, it came to me in a flash. It's quick, agile and so responsive. I named it Suzee, after one of my Greyhounds that is no longer with me. I can only think she would be honored. Always meeting me at my car door when I arrived home from work, wanting to go for a drive to her favorite place to chase things and run her butt off. The topper is she was also made in the UK. I brought her with me to the US when I moved a few years ago.

I named mine Lucy. When I got her I was still learning to drive a stick and when I stalled her I could yell out, "Lucy, you got some 'splaining to do!" Then we would all laugh and I was less tense trying to drive.

I told the wife about this thread, and after her usual look of utter disbelief she proclaimed that our soon-to-arrive MCS should have an English name like "Bridget Jones". Grrr..she knows exactly how to **** me off.

After tickling her mercilessly for a few minutes in payback, she suggested "Hermione". We're both fans of the Harry Potter books, so I think that this is going to stick. However, I might end up spelling it "HerMIoNI"

Wow. I think i just hit a new low in MINI-obsessed dorkiness. She better arrive soon.
