I saw someone in one of the posts on dealer reviews stated they used peoplefirst for financing. I was wondering if anyone can give me any guidance on using them. They seem to have the lowest rate right now for perfect credit, and I was thinking of using them to finance my girlfriend's new MINI Cooper S. Good, bad, ugly??

Thanks

Ryan

I got 4.09% for 60 month loan of $22,500 from peoplefirst. Delivery is in a few weeks and I'll see if the dealer will beat that. I've heard nothing but good things about peoplefirst. My approval took about 30 minutes. I faxed them my pay stub and several days later I received the "blank check" from them.

Just was approved by Peoplesfirst for 3.79 for 36 months. The easiest loan ever. My dealership would NOT budge on the rate of 5.89, so I did better on my own. I was approved in 15 minutes, and the blank check arrived the NEXT day. I checked with the dealership to make sure they accepted the check and they do. The check is good for 45 days and has an auto deduct from your account if you would like. The website is very helpful. I have e-mailed them with various questions, and they have responded within the day. My MCS is due to dock in N.Y. on Monday!

Thanks for all the responses. I'll see what the dealer will do and go form there. I can just choose at that point where to go. Kahu, My girlfriend will actually be my fiance in a couple of weeks, so it's not like anything will go sour. Besides, if it does for any reason the car is in my name and then becomes MINE!!! Ha ha ha

Thanks for all the info!

WOW! That's all I gotta say. Any loan from anyplace that is 4% or lower is unbelievable. If you can wait another two weeks, it appears as though the rates will be dropping another 1/4 to 1/2 percent so you may even be able to do better than the 3.9! Anyone on this site that is younger than 40 years old I don't think can completely comprehend the historical significance of interest rates this low. Jump on it as soon as you can!

You're right Hank. I thought about buying TWO MINI's just because of the low rate. One for me and one for my girlfriend!

Funny you should say that, I just refinanced my home for a 15 year term for 4.25%. These people are practically giving money away!

I have used PeopleFirst in the past and the rates and service are excellent -- I recommend them highly.

I just got 3.54% for 36 months from Peoplefirst.com. I received an email from Costco about a week ago with a link to get reduced rates from Peoplefirst for Costco members. Applied and was approved in under 10 minutes!

Peopfirst.com is indeed the best car loan experience ever! We took a 36 month loan for our current 2002 Cooper CVT back in September of last year @ 4.75% which was the lowest rate available at the time.

When my '04 MCS arrives in October I hope the rates they offer are at or below 3.50% as I plan to put down in cash 66% of the cost of the car and finance the rest with Peoplefirst for 36 months....can't beat it!!!

I agree that we are living in the best time in history to borrow money to either buy a new house, a new car, personal loans, etc.

Cheap financing is the name of the game.

DOH! Costco discount? DOH!

We used Peoplefirst in Feb '03 @ 3.79%
They were surprisingly slow -- took a week or so to overnight the check. Plan ahead. The salesman at Moritz (Dallas) had a FIT when I told him I'd be using a Peoplefirst check and he actually threatened to detain our car for 3 MONTHS in retaliation! I threw his lazy *** right off the case and went straight to the sales manager, who concurred. They were so terribly angry about the Peoplefirst check that I actually had to contact the general manager of the entire dealership complex and beg him to accept the check. Even still, they held our car for 8 days and put 10 unaccounted-for miles on it while waiting for the check to clear.

Anyway, Peoplefirst was great. Just avoid Moritz at all costs.

The only problem I have with peoplefirst.com is that they won't let you re-fi one of their own loans!

Vespa, you should go in and edit your review of them in the "Dealer Rating System" as you gave them 5 stars...

Yeah, I wrote that review immediately after placing my order.

I want to type up the full story (including the truck driver who logged 4 miles using my car to pick up hookers) but I'm still too angry.

My peoplefirst blank check arrived in the mail 1 to 2 business days after I got approved. Oh and my selling dealer (Lauderdale MINI) was more than happy to accept my Peoplefirst blank check (Furthermore, BMW financial services could not touch the low interest rate given by Peoplefirst). Zero hassles, no questions asked, they simply love working with them. Smoothest sales transaction ever. I was in and out of the dealer with our new Cooper CVT in less than 30 minutes!

Vespa: You seem to have dealt with CROOKS of the first kind!

Since reading this peoplefirst thread, I have refinanced my Mini. My old BMW agreement was a flexible payment of $11,000 after 42 months @ 7.25 %. Peoplefirst was 59 months at 4.75% YEAH!!!!

I used Peoplefirst in December. Approval took 15 minutes and the check was in my hand the next day. I can't remember what the rate was, but it was at least a percent and a half lower than BMW. I'm using Peoplefirst on my next car as well.
