I would expect very poor light output. hopefully someone on here has them. I would def. want a set if they were good quality. I wonder why they will work with a cooper but not a cooper s.....and if they make or will make xenon ones

yea my thoughts to, if you look they dont even have any of the defining grooves that the stock headlights do, and i think worst case i could get the lights painted if i really wanted to

You are bidding on a pair of Black projector headlights designed for 02-05 MINI COOPER BASE MODEL ( NOT COOPER S )

What's the difference between the MCS and MC lights?

I had this style on my old neon. the washers in that case were used for aiming the lights. and i think they say MC but not MCs because maybe they think the MCs are the xenon models?

I'm really interested in how these look. I think the Angel Eyes look awesome - as long as I keep the Bi-Xenon bulbs as well.

thought i would throw up a few pics. no its not a mini, but it was the same thing but only for a neon...came right off ebay. there were two types for the neons. one had headlight reflector housings for highs and lows, and the other had a projector for lows and a reflector for highs. the reflectors worked and lit very well, but the projectors were pure garbage when it came to light output. but here are a few pics of the halos. i hooked mine into my park lamps.

Wow, no one has purchased these yet? They look like the 05-06 xenons. This is a hellava deal. Post-lift xenons with the "joey-mod". Nobody from NAM has tried this auction yet?

These aren't xenons....they're halogens. They also arent post-lift...just made to look like it.

So you could get OEM halogens for 400 or you could get ebay halogens for 400.

Hmm, I was wondering why the output of light was coming from the side and not the "eye" projector like in 05-06 xenons. That explains it.

I wonder if anyone is willing to take apart these headlamps and interchance the halo in our oem xenons?

Uhh the output of the low-beam light will be coming out of the projector....but it's not an HID projector....it's a halogen projector.

You could just buy separate halos for our OEM xenons at lots of places...no need to buy these headlights and open them up.

Check these guys....any size you want: http://www.oznium.com/circle-ccfl

more for reference:
http://www.rallitek.com/ccaneyheri.html
http://www.hnconcepts.com/diyangeleyes/index.htm
http://www.power-tuning.fr/en/perfor...p16740695.html
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-E...spagenameZWDVW
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-E...spagenameZWDVW

And the ones i listed are true cathode tubes with a transformer just like the BMW ones......the ebay ones apear to be like the cheap turnsignal ones offered for MINI's that just use two 5w5 bulbs and appear uneven at night.

That's what they did in that pic....found a size they needed, drilled two holes and wired it up. You don't need to buy a $400 headlight and tear it apart to get a 10 dollar cheap halo ring.

{this response is assuming you mean the angel eyes i just posted}

I would say that it really depends on how much guts you have, and how handy you are.

What it would require is the following
  • The ability to open up the headlights. Many people report that this can be done with oven, some have used prying method
  • The innovation of finding a proper place for the halo and the proper size.
  • The ability to figure out a way to mount it so that it doesnt interfere with the lights and allows a method of wiring.
  • Requires wires to be routed and transformer to be mounted somewhere that it doesnt hit anything when the hood is closed
There aren't really any instruction steps....so this job mainly requires some innovation and motivation to be a trail blazer. It doesn't require any expertise in electronics, and doesn't require much fabrication.....so it's not hard in that way. It just requires some imagination and handywork

Hahah sorry man. Someone had to point those out to people now that everyone has built up the courage to start opening up headlights. Once the headlights are open...there is more that can be done than just joey mods
