I was getting lunch and bumped into a guy with a Mini. He says he works at the Mini Dealer in Lake Forest (IL), which was about 1 mile away, so I believe him.

His MC was not lowered but raised about 3-4 inchs. He let me sit it. It was weird. But I have to say it felt nice. Getting in and out was easier. He did if for safty because he was use to the BMW SUV (higher) and didn't like being so low to the ground (after he bought it he figured this out). I asked about handling he says great, he's not taking corner at 100.

Any one else raise a Mini. It was OK looking on the MC but seems like a waste on the MCS. I'll try to stop by on Monday and get a picture of it.

I will be driving past later tonight, I may now stop in...

I will eventually be getting some KW coilovers to lower the MINI during the summer and raise it at least on inch for the winter. I will love to see what this looks like. and take pics.

I'll try to stop by Monday to take a couple pictures. I don't have my digital camera here. I didn't want to post what else he told me because I have no idea if it makes sense, something about new coils and air shocks. I think he's capable of taking the car up and down as desired. He claims this but I don't know enough about cars if this is possible and he didn't demo it for me. I assume it's kind of like the movies when you see the Mexican in East L.A. Bouncing their cars  Is it possible to install soemthing that can raise and lower on a Mini on demand? Sorry for typoes, typing fast, have a meeting to go to

Why would something like that be OK on an MC but not an MCS?

Question:
Why would something like that be OK on an MC but not an MCS?

Answer:

I'm a pround owner of a PW/B MC (I didn't find the MCS worth the extra and the MC seemed faster up to 40-50 anyway - I live in Chicago area lots of traffic).

I said this because the MCS comes stock with the suspension plus. Which is to help take corners faster - but also cause a bumper ride  Seems stupid to raise a car if you goal is to take corners faster.

I should have explained myself better on that comment. No negatives to either MC or MCS. I love them both

Yeah, this guy has been totally brainwashed by the SUV juggernaut. Does he think that the danger of raising the car's center of gravity by 3-4 inches is outweighed by whatever benefit he thinks he will have in the event of a collision? I just don't get it.

I totally agree with this guy.. I mean, come on, the car is just too drivable.. we should all raise the center of gravity so that the handling is degraded...

(Although, rasing it an inch in winter does seem like a really damn good idea..)
