I drove my new MCS home today. His name is COOP 2, and he is a replacement for COOP 1, an MC, whom I have had for the last 15 months--and whom I expect to sell in the next day or two. Here's the thing: I was struck by an overwhelming sense of adultery on my way home. I'm not kidding at all--I really felt like I was cheating on COOP when I was driving home in the sexier, younger car. I'm hoping this feeling will go away, and I wanted to hear about anyone else who has experienced a similar situation.

Just find COOP 1 a good home with loving parents and everyone will be happy.
Enjoy your MCS and after a bit, post a note about what you think is the difference- maybe wait about a 1000 miles first. I have 3600 miles on my MCS and still need more time to learn what I need to learn to drive better.

I have a solution: Keep both

Since Minis are half the size of a full size SUV, then having two Minis is like having one big car

I had the same problem when I got my Cooper, I just couldn´t get sell my other car, I still liked it very much and had been an excellent and reliable ride... and used cars are so depreciated in Mexico, that I´d rather keep it than basically give it away.

I´m sure two Minis can get along really good. Just feed them in separate dishes and make sure to give both plenty of your time

Just take Coop for one last, long, hard ride
and say goodbye.

Although not the LAST ride--I did drive COOP to school last night, which was about a 40 mile round trip. Going there, I was in traffic, but coming home I was zipping around--even racing a little with an ugly Mustang. It actually did me and COOP some good to have one last jaunt together...

My wife and I were actually talking about this very seriously the other night...please save your SUV hating posts for another thread, but we also own a three year old JEEP Cherokee (we live in Chicago, alright!?) and it's kind of hard to give up when you have two good-sized dogs, and a new house that requires frequent trips to the Home Despot. Then again, I guess we could put a roof rack on COOP 1 and put some gruesome snow tires on in the winter...

But the real nail in the coffin: there's the money issue. I'd be short about $10K if I sold the JEEP instead of COOP...oh well.

so you'd be 10K down but how much more happy would you be if you had two minis?

Point well taken. But how sad would I be when the Repo Man takes them both back to the dealership!?

Mrs. Chitown let me know her intentions last night after her first ride in COOP 2: "Chile red, white top, white wheels, white bonnet stripes." Sure hope this economy gets jump started soon!
