Help!!

Hello, I am looking to get a MCS but I am not sure if I should get a brand new '07/'08 or if I should get a used one? What are the ups and downs of getting a new one verses getting a used one? These are a few that I have found in my local area. You guys are the pro's what do you think? Any thing at all will be useful.

I vote for the space blue one, it looks just like mine.

I like the 2006... I would drive the 2006 and then drive the 2007 and then you can base your opinion on actiual experience on what you like better.

With the 07/08 you would get better gas mileage. It also comes with a flying saucer key.

I would never get an 07'. I have nothing against them- but its not only a new model, but also a completely new engine design. I'd say test drive both, and if you like the 07', wait and get an 08'. That's what I'd do. I'm all for buying used cars myself.

I second Jeffc's reply - test drive the '06 and take out an '07 for a test drive. It will all boil down to which one you like best. The '07's have been out for close to a year now so I'm sure that many of the issues have been sorted out. From reading posts, most of the '07 owners are thrilled with their cars.

It won't be long until the 08's come out, so I'd wait for them if you like the turbo.

I agree. If you can drive both, why not give them a shot.

Personally, I'm an R53 guy for good. The new series just doesn't have that oomf. I too had the option of 06 vs 07 and the choice was very very easy. I love the look of the R53 much more as well as the engine. (it didnt hurt to be jcw tuned) Maybe a year or two down the road I might feel different but the 06 is damn near perfect IMO while the R56 might take a year or so to get "right".

again this is all just personal opinion

i have and '06 mcs and love it. i don't know what the difference in the superchage vs. turbocharged. somebody tell me the difference -- any difference in pickup other than '07 have a little more horsepower. they say the 07's don't have the same little hefty engine noise. i like it. it sounds like a neat power noise.

Well this is all very useful information Thanks! I am still trying to sell my truck before we order the Mini so I am pretty sure I am going to end up ordering the '08 if I can't find any '06's around for sale.
