No new body styles are planned, unfortunately (I am dreaming of a MINI Traveller station wagon) for the 2004 model year. Actually the MINI OPEN convertible will be introduced in late 2004 as a 2005 model year.

The Mini needs to be out for at least 5 to 6 years before BMW can afford to start making body style changes. It will take at least that long before the current style gets out of the red column and into the black column of the ledger. I seriously doubt BMW will make expensive tooling changes before the car is profitable. Minor cosmetic or slight appearance details may get some changes though.

No, we'll still have two arms and two legs.

I will look through my June Auto mags, but one of them included a BMW design change timeline, and it mentioned a Mini facelift for 2004, no details were given.

I thought they were going to implant rare earth magnets in the bumper to increase the MPG?
