Cabin Filter Bosch Replacement

I need some help guys. I got the Bosch replacement (part # c3672) from Autozone.

Took out the OEM cabin filter and it looks nothing like the one I got except the size and shape. The OEM one seems to have the filter built into a case but the Bosch filter is just the filter itself. Do I reuse the case to hold the bosch filter or does the bosch filter just go into the cabin filter compartment?

Also which side is the air flowing? There were no markings on the OEM one so I have no clue. My guess is air is flowing downwards so I'd stick the Bosch filter back in there with the air flow arrows facing down?

I also don't know how far to shove the filter in there. I felt the compartment and it felt horizontal shaped extending to the center panel but it has a little elevation. Felt sorta like this:

center __________
-------------------\ ___________
bottom of cabin filter compartment

Yep. Here's a link to a DIY but it isn't very detailed.

I know it's expensive, but the Bentley Press Service manual for the Mini is available from Amazon for $75. Worth it if you do any self maintenance at all.

I actually just want to make sure I have the air flow in the right direction.

Thanks.

We stock the OEM Cabin filter, along with a lot of other OEM parts. We also have the Haynes Manual.
