I was motoring with my Brother last night . Just chillin' out in my new MINi...enjoying the cool wind .. the clear sky ... talking about chicks... and my MINI of course... Then he asked me a question which almost put me into a position where I would drop kick him ( in my MINI ? ) and kick him out of my car :evil: :evil:

HE ASKED : " D*MN Ken, why did ya get a CHILI red MINI. This Colour is not for guys to drive around with.. Its for GIRLS !! .. and with the MINi and the white top and stuff.. It looks so F***ing Gay. "

Just before my anger was ready to be transform into a rage of punches and kicks... he commented on my Interior.....

" But I really Dig the red Interior man ... looks sharp.. just like the interior on my SLK. "

I withdraw from punching his face in and told him that I like the colour cause its sharp like a MINI SHOULD BE .. and it does look like HIS SLK and stuff .... BEnz... EKK !!!

The Chili red MINIs are soo sharp and it makes the car stands out from all the other cars in the parking alot ! :smile: I can find my MINIs soooo easily now .... without using the panic button on my remote control !

I just have to agree with you about the SLK thing Davbret. And my brother knows that the SLK is a Semi hick ca as well. But that SLK came to my brother at a really really Cool price. ... a freind of my brother was leaving the states and he had to give up his car. The SLK was only driven for one summer ( I think ) ... so his brother bought the car off of his friend at like 30 - 40% off from MSRP. He would of gotten another car that he so called " MORE HIM " ... but he just couldn't pass on a deal like that ! :smile:

Seriously, car color is not gender specific (except for those Mary Kay Pink Cadillacs). I don't think is is sexually orientated either. Red is an aggressive color, not a "chick" color. I'm at a loss for what that guy was thinking. Could he have been saying that the MINI was a chick/gay car, in all its iterations?

Depends on the shade of red. Some shades of RED are for "chicks" but I think the Chili Red is definitely unisex. :smile:

i agree.... but i also think the only mercedes worth getting (as far as looks go.... i AM a girl..) is the CL and SL... other than that i couldnt care less about them....

All Chilli Red MINI & All BRG Classic Mini. At the Spring Thing in Clearwater Fl. last
March, got to see many MINIS all different colors. All were beautiful. If I had it all to do over with would still buy All Chilli Red MINI. Just love the color. Absolutly beautiful! What it comes down to is personal choice. Chili Red is certainly not a girl/woman color, nor a boy/man color. I think your friend was just raging you on, just trying to push your button.

I think your bro was probably thrown by the white top and mirrors. People here is south eastern michigan don't seem to get it either. The chili is strong enough to stand on it's own. The white tops are growing on me, I probably won't get it just to be different. Any color mini with 17" wheels looks cool to anybody who knows squat about cars. My own brother, and some co-workers have joked about me having some sexuality issues for wanting a mini. Despite the wife and 2 kids !! But they've never driven one !! They drive old pick-ups, crown vics and honda accords. Doesn't sound like much Hetro fun to me !!

I'll admit I wish the EB had a little more blue to it,when viewed from some angles, and the yellow could be a little brighter, like the corvettes, but chili red is cooool. Like all art, some people get it, and some just don't. A aero front clip with a blacked out grill, or a sweet set of 17's (if you've got the 16's) will make it look more agressive, if you choose to care, if not, F em. Meet cooler friends at Mini meets.
