Officially a MINI owner!

I picked my mini up last night. I got an '04 MCs blk on blk. I'm still trying to figure everything out about this car. there are a plethra of buttons and switches than I have been pushing all day trying to figure out what they do. The car has under 28k miles, 6 speed, sunroof, and H/k stereo. I'm not sure what other features this car has just yet as i am totally new to minis and not sure whats standard and whats not...It also came with chrome rims, and factory rims, and a bunch of other new goodies that had yet to be installed (mud flaps, floor mats, chrome pieces etc.)

the car isn't perfect though. it has a busted headlamp ring, and some scratches just below the ring on the bumper, it also has a noticable dent on the back bumper. she's also very dirty and in need of a bath (yes i decided its a girl) the SES is on. throwing p0130, p0136, and p2404 codes. I know the first two are o2 sensors...the 3rd i have no clue....The car just needs a little TLC and it'll be as good as new.

I'm not a stranger to car care and modifying. I come from the Neon world (neons.org) I decided to sell my neon because I felt that I have out grown such a car and just didn't feel right driving it. So I bought a Suzuki xl-7 (which i still own) but that ride made me feel like an old man and I was used to turning heads while on the road and the suzuki just blended in. So i think the mini is a good balance.

I'll try to post a few pics within the next day or so. If it ever stops raining... but for now. here are some pics of my old neon. the first pic is how the car looked when i bought it, and the last two are more recent pictures before i sold it. I havent decided the grand plan for my mini yet...I'm still looking at all of your all's minis and trying to see what has been done and what hasn't

I'll shut up now:impatient thanks for reading!

Congrats on your purchase! If it's throwing codes, sounds like a trip to the nearest dealer to get it fixed under warranty is in order. Happy Motoring and we LOVE to see pictures...

This is how the car looked when i brought it home. It def. needs some work. I've already begun to De-Chrome it.

Here are some pics of the damage that came with it. I need to pop the back wheel off and try to pop the dent in the rear...Hopefully it'll improve it until i have the time and $ to get it fix or replaced properly

i know its dirty, but ive been working on cleanin it up. ill post some more pics once i get it clean and take off a lil more chrome

I also have some things for sale that came with the car here...

I have a set of oem 17inch rims in perfect condition that I will be putting up for sale very soon, I also plan to sell the chrome rims on the car right now. pm me if interested or keep an eye on the marketplace forum!

De-chroming looks like a good idea, that didn't look quite right. The front tires look almost shaved- please becareful on those-espcially in the rain.

Go to Exterior mod forum, and ask about bumper cover in your color. Lots of folks have bumper covers in their basements after adding aero kits.
We replaced our rear bumper cover after a little mishap
For $200. I don't think that will pop out without leaving a mark.
Welcome

Thanks for the info. I'll be sure to do that.

and here is a picture of the mini now...I ripped off the chrome A,B,C pillar covers(they were a pain to pull off, tough tape) Also got new tires put on, and ordered smoke arch lenses.
