Recaro Sportster CS

Just installed the Recaro Sportster CS before the Dragon. No way I was going on a long trip with the OE seats. For me, they were really uncomfortable after two hours. The seat pan was too short for me.

Anyway, I can say I'm extremely happy with the seats and they look great. At least to me anyway. I had a lot of positive comments on them at the Dragon. They were pretty simple to install, once I modified the brackets...Wrong ones sent. The design of the rear is awesome, they recline (they are hard shelled), lighweight, not too wide and do not hit the B pillar. They look pretty good in scale in the car.

The only issue I have is I lost the heated seats but I didn't have time to put in the heated elements before the trip. However the ultra-suede feels great, so I didn't miss it. I also tripped the airbag. I placed a 3ohm resistor when I hear I need a 4ohm. Oh well, the black tape over the lamp will do for now!

Anyway, I'll get some night shots (I added ambient lighting, blue) and if anyone has any questons feel free.

Those seats look great and comfortable too, but I really like that they're lighter!

Thanks guys! And you your welcome for the chance to try them out! And they did a great job of holding me in during spirited driving. MUCH better than the OE's. Even better is thet fact I now have circulation in my legs after driving extended periods.

This is prob a dump question but do you retain all the adjustment functions of the stock seats? Those looks sweat!

Not a dumb question at all. Height adjustment is gone. At least the "immediate" kind. The "H" point was really close if not spot on to where I had my OE seats set. I''m 6'2" with a 34 inseam and pretty long torso (95th percentile) so a lower "H" point works for me. Adjustment can be made with the brackets to a dregree. After talking with Supreme powersports (where I purchased them, located in CA) they had worked quite a bit to set up the bracket and slider set up that would be most optimal. I think they succeeded. Of course, seats arelike clothes or shoes....They might not fit everyone.

Recline is there by rotating a ****. One one either side. For and aft by pulling up on front lever, seat upper folds forward for access to the rear area by a slick lever tied in to the upper seat harness hole.

No "memory" meaning when you tilt upper seat portion the whole seat does not slide forward. I don't miss this since I rarely had anyone get into the seat behind me or actually in back at all. IF I need to then I can adjust the seat forward then tilt the upper so whomever can gain access to the rear.

As mentioned I lost the heated function but I can add that anytime with a aftermarket kit and wire it in.

All in all I'm really happy with them and as of yet not missed any functions over the OE seat. Better lumbar, better cushion/foam comfort and superior bolster support.

Yeah if there is drawback it's the cost. $1399.00 each but Supreme worked out the best since A: they were the few that had it in stock and B. they had free shipping. It worked out to be $1299.00 a seat with that factored in and they (Eric) had great customer service. Emails were answered and follow up by cell was much appreciated. I told him of my trip and they worked with me to get the seats to MI on time....Even though UPS managed to lose one.

Long story but it all worked out in the end. If anyone goes for it I would give them a call.

Check out their website:www.supremepowerparts.com

I checked into a few others, Cobra included (any of the hard shell recliners) and the prices were in the same ballpark if not more. much more. Depending on some which material you desired. The Sparco in leather is about $1700.00 a seat so all in all none of them are cheap. I like the design, function and dimesions of the Recaro the best so I went for it.

Very cool. I have a Checkmate and those would go in very nicely.

Those are some sweet chairs and they look great in your car. I have no complaints with my stock seats but when I got back into my car I was like "I gotta start saving my pennies!"
