R50/53 Radar detectors?

FYI- had a V1 in the car on a road trip last week, on my way back there were multiple troopers who were "pacing" detector never went off but my situational alertness kept me on my normal good behavior. And locally on my commute I've got about 50% odds that the method of choice will be laser or pacing, but the V1 shines in the podunk towns near by that stop for less than 5 over/10% course the V1 also does spend the majoirty of its time in the glove box, basically a road trips only/ additional info kind of thing, cause if you speed it is really only a matter of time before you're stopped, some good detectors delay that though.

Does it go through the proper start sequence? Go to a shopping center and see if you get any alerts by the doors, especially super markets. If not, it probably isn't working. Is it plugged in all the way?

yea the thing is i was on the highway and there was a cop with his gun and every thing and it didnt go off :( didnt get a ticket but still..
Or *gulp* LIDAR....

Bought radar detector, felt confident, exceeded speed limit, caught by a bear in the air, tossed radar detector.
Now I just avoid tickets cause no matter how fast I go, a bunch of people are alway going even faster.

yeah, I was sitting on my boat one day playing with the ship to shore, and caught the banter between the guy in the plane and the ground units on the Maine Turnpike.I used to think that was just garbage about "State police clock speed by aircraft" . Not any more, while I was listening, they got 2 guys in pickup trucks doing just under a hundred miles per hour

I have a Valentine One. I sware by it. it's easily saved me $1,500 in the 2 years or so i've owned it. In CA with $350-$500 tickets it's not worth saving 100-200 bucks on the detecter. You either go all out, or not at all . No experiance with that detector. So many different detectors out there, i'm sure someone will chime in.
