Obviously, a radar detector isn't going to detect pacing; it detects radar, not cops.

Does it go through the proper start sequence? Go to a shopping center and see if you get any alerts by the doors, especially super markets. If not, it probably isn't working. Is it plugged in all the way?

Yeah. Most likely the cop just didn't hit the trigger on you.

the beam out of a lidar gun is approximately the size of a quarter as it hits your car. If the LEO has targeted your license plate as they so often do, it is entirely possible that your detector mounted high on your windscreen never went off. My current terror is the LEO on the overpass with the gun in one hand and the radio in the other broadcasting your car type and speed to the fleet of cruisers just out of sight around the next corner. As was just said, speed and it's just a matter of time before you get had, radar detector or not, V1 or escort.JMHO

Bought radar detector, felt confident, exceeded speed limit, caught by a bear in the air, tossed radar detector.

Now I just avoid tickets cause no matter how fast I go, a bunch of people are alway going even faster.

yeah, I was sitting on my boat one day playing with the ship to shore, and caught the banter between the guy in the plane and the ground units on the Maine Turnpike.I used to think that was just garbage about "State police clock speed by aircraft" . Not any more, while I was listening, they got 2 guys in pickup trucks doing just under a hundred miles per hour

bear in the air............... I'd never heard that one before.

You either go all out, or not at all . No experiance with that detector. So many different detectors out there, i'm sure someone will chime in.
hands down the best IMHO...

just like rusty, mine saved me near the same amount...perfect weapon against long travels...the remote display is awesome!
