central oregon MINI owners

I've seen some of you motoring around Bend and the surrounding area - but how many of us are there? I'd like to know if anyone would like to make contact. I think it would be fun to know who we are waiving at as we pass each other.

There are a few of us around. I have the BRG/W MCS, no stripes that's Jim.
Scott, he'll prob post later, has a EB/W MCS. And Chuck is the LY/B MC always parked at his Flower shop on 3rd & Greenwood. There are a few others but I haven't met up with them.

Another Bend Mini checking in!

I drive a BRG/B mcs. Love to see some of the local minis at the ACCO autocrosses. I'm getting pretty lonely running as the only mini! Next event is July 21st at the Deschutes County fairgrounds. The website is autoxclub.org.

OK so that accounts for 3 of the 4 BRG MINIs I've seen in town. Who has the BRG/BRG MCS? Anyway where is everybody else? Sunday I saw a DS/B MCS and a CR/W MC. Also at lunch today a PS/B MCS. Who are they? Anyone? Bueller...... Bueller..... Bueller...... C'mon folks let's start talking so maybe we can start Motoring together.

Now this is what I wanted to hear!

My name is Owen and I drive the '04 PW/B MCS w/ carbon fiber intake scoop and sometimes black stripes - I got the magnetic ones. I think I met Chuck at Office Max before I got my MINI. I asked him how he liked it and which dealer he got it from - Murray, UT - I think. Scott, I met John Audia who has a EB/W MCS with a Viking construction sticker on it in town, so I'm not sure you're the only one??? I met a fellow with a silver and black MC from the Christmas valley area. The rest of you I don't know. I'm looking to find someone to install a 15% reduction pulley, anyone else have the same plan?

Hey Owen, my wife kind of ran into you at the video store last night. She didn't put two and two together until later. The guy with the Ford shirt and the PW MCS in the parking lot. Anyway I had my pulley installed at Rasmussen MINI. That way I was sure the guy knew what he was doing. Also gave the car a quick once over "MINI" service/ updated the software to v.37 (newest at the time). There are other places that could do it in the PDX area, but I don't know of any on this side of the mountains. Not something I’m willing to do at home myself.

Maybe I'll have Rasmussen install mine. Will you give me a heads up on the labor charge for the install? I was thinking of going in for the v37 upgrade too. Did you notice any improvements. So far I've installed the leather shifter and ebrake boots, auxiliary gauges, black aero kit grills only, carbon fiber intake scoop, mini mania cold air intake and hardwired my radar detector. I prefer to install my own goodies whenever I can but, the H&R springs were installed at Sounds Fast in town. I would still like to have someone else install the pulley and then I'm thinking about adding some light weight 17in alloys and a short throw shifter. Yes, that was me last night renting -Along Came Polly.

Ken,

I'd love to try an autocross sometime. I'll bet that I have a tough time finding one I can attend. Are there ever late evening practice sessions?

Your pulley reductions..

You folks may wish to contact Randy Webb at www.WebbMotorsports.com - he may be planning a West Coast swing somtime in the near future and if so, perhaps he can arrange a pulley party for you.

That or take a day and drive to Denver and we'll have a pp for you! Actually, if you did that, I could organize a group of pp to meet you 1/2 way and we would escort you in....beautiful roads here too, as you have in OR!

Good Luck...

Hi Ho Silver

The autocrosses are held Sat and Sun.

I don't believe Rassmussen will install pulleys anymore. Had a problem with a customer and his pulley.....lol.

Another alternative is MINI-Mania. They are located in the Portland/Hillsboro area and they do pulley installs at about $400.

I will look for you around town !

OK, so yesterday, Sunday, I saw a BRG/BRG MCS in the Newport Market parking lot. Thought it was Hayseed but the roof color was wrong. Any ideas? In an effort to help us get to know each other better I’ve decided to start taking a photo of the MINIs I see around town. Here are the first two:

1) Me on the way back from picking up Max a year ago. Has it been that long?

2) A motor by on Obeyond at lunch today.

MOTOR ON

Thanks for all the info. A trip to CO for a pp sounds like a fun trip but, I'm all out of vacation time. I sent Randy at Webb a note, in case he'll be out this way. Slow down the next time you take a photo of my car so you can do it justice. Stop in to the store some time and say "hi."
