NOOO... IT'S CHRIS BANGLE AGAIN.....
I like it, and I also like all of Bangle's current work. Have you seen the new Z4 M Coupe? Gorgeous... IMHO.
I think it has become a cliche to bash him and his designs. Automotive journalists did it back when the first 7-series design came out a few years ago, then the bench racers on forums like these jumped on that bandwagon, because it gave them all something to talk about. Bashing Bangle was the "thing to do", so seemingly everyone did it. I believe it wasn't all merited.
Styling is so subjective...

I like the M Coupe but at some angles, it definately looks awkward - same with the 5 series, the X3, etc.
Bashing Bangle isn't in - his designs are controversial and not all of the elements work.

Like you said, it's totally subjective. I love the old "boxy" look of of the 2002 and old 3-series but I think the current 7 series blows.

The concept is pretty cool but so radical a departure from the older ones that it's jarring. It looks more like an evolution of a Jag or Aston with more angles.
