do you have the 210 upgrade? I would think that whoever gets the better launch will take it.

You'd better add something to your post about "at a drag strip" or this thread won't last too much longer.

Stock for stock, the R32 is a faster car than the MINI in a drag race, considering it has AWD and more power. Even with the header upgrade, I doubt you'd win against an R32. Oh, just so you know, my roomie has an 2004 R32 and I have a fairly modded up 2k3 MCS, so I'm well aware of the potential of both cars. Let's just say, I need more power. Perhaps after a header and head upgrade, I'll hope to catch up to him. Then again, he will always have better traction, so it might not matter anyways. Good luck, though! Remember to just keep it fun and make sure you do this sorta thing at sanctioned areas.

Power to weight, especially on a twisty road course, might favor you. But the R32 is a 6 making beaucoup torque.

Keep it off the streets, and go pay to have some fun.

Drag race - you'll lose, and badly, unless this chum of yours isn't much of a driver, and you're Fernando Alonso.

Another form of performance assessment - you have a better shot, especially if turns are present.

The Mini and the R32 are my favorites! I love both of them I wish I could own both.
Which would you think would win between a JCW GP vs stock R32? :D

The R32 only has about 240 hp and it weighs over 3500lbs. Tested 0-60 times are in the mid 6's. The MCS should beat it hands down.

Nothing like the 'ole internet racing! I'm guilty of it, too, just see above. This is all silly until it's done. Go to a drag strip and git 'er done.

Win or loose, ????, at least with the MINI you won't be in the shop or broken down all the time.

its all about the driver. whoever gets better starts between you to should win. with his awd he should get better starts everytime! unless he cant drive. I have dragged many MUCH faster cars then mine, and beaten cars that should have crushed me, but they let anyone with 15 bucks on the track so driver skill is somethimes lacking.

ill be out at the track this weekend, if there are any r32s ill line up with um. ill post video if I do.

Agreed. The AWD of the R32 provides your friend with a distinct advantage as far as launching faster...

Please let us know how you do!

I did, legaly, race an R32 once and it was almost neck to neck with my 200hp JCW. Weight is your enemy, so try to loose all extra stuff that you need... even gas. ditch those run flatrs coz they suck and get lighter wheels. you will get the advantage and beat him. Please race responsibly and off road on a track or closed circuit. You are from Bahrain aren't you?

Not to be a smart-*** the R32 has 260 hp and it's 4-motion my dad has one and I've raced him he left me behind at least 8 car lengths. when i get the chance to drive it believe me it does 0-60 in at least 5.7 sec so don't try at all becuase you will embarrase yourself

word from the son of an R32 owner

and it has about 260 lb-ft of torque

yea but being that ur atleast eighteen being that you have ur own car, that means ur dad would be some where around his forties,
he obviously has the driving expierience to know how to launch the R32 the right way.
Maybe his friend doesnt, thats the only reason i managed to beat a subaru impreza wrx, even though it was by a half car
