I'm astounded at the cars that are missing from the lists!

Where's the following?

MGB
240Z
Lotus Europa
Lamborghini Muira
Ferrari Dino
Ferrari 250 GT
Austin Healey 3000

.... and I could go on.

At least they have the Caterham Superlight, but no Ariel Atom!?!?

Hmm, old Mini or Renault 5...

Because none of them are the "greatest"

Muira was beautiful but today ...

I had a 240Z, hardly the greatest

MINI???? Against the Ferraris and Lambos on that list aint got a chance.

I couldn't really understand how people liked the Muira until I saw one in person at the Concours de Elegance last year. That thing was beautiful. I swear, if you put a Muira, Europa, and Dino next to each other in profile shots, you could hardly tell the difference.

It looks like they're going to do the test by categories because there's no way a little performance hatchback is going to compete with some of those cars on the list...

Not exactly high praise for innovative design.

Of the three mentioned, the Dino was for me the best looking with the Muira an accquired taste. the Lotus Europa never grabbed me, it looked like a very small, very low, panel van.

Muira was one of the most beautiful cars ever built.

Jag E Type maybe sexier but the Lambo was stunning.

$20K, I believe when new.

Well, in comparing those, to the list on the voting site, I wouldn't say any of those qualify as all time greatest either. I mean, what's the criteria?

The MGB and the 240Z broke barriers and changed the direction of sports car design in their time. The MG-TC introduced America to the small sports car.

So the question is begged, all time greatest based on what?

Excellent question. Some might argue that the Mustang was THE greatest car ever .... completely made compact cars acceptable and started the Muscle Car Era (with due regards to the GTO).

The cumulative votes of thousands of readers and website visitors. I thought that was obvious.
