The Lotus Europa is back
The Lotus Europa is back
Presenting the Lotus Europa S:

Streched wheelbase version of the Exige coupe. Slightly more comfortable than the Exige. No plans for US distribution.
The wheelbase is 2 inches longer than that of the Exige's. Instead of the Toyota sourced four banger found in the Elise/Exige, Lotus installs a 2.0L TurbochargedOpel engine mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The trunk is bigger than the Exige and rearward visibility is also better. The interior is a little less "race car" as some of the Exige's bare metal surfaces are covered in either leather or plastic. The side door sills are marginally lower for easier entry/exit to the cockpit.
The Lotus Europa S is the "Daily driver" version of the Elise/Exige.

Looks like a Saturn? Which one? The new Sky Roadster? That's a nice car!
If the Europa S were, say, $10K less than the Elise/Exige that probably wouldn't be such a bad thing, eh?

Not going to happen. Not for US sale, no bumpers but besides that. 06 Elise, most about high 40s depending upon options. Exige Mid-50s or higher. Europa price stripped, 49K Euros.
Thats more than $59K. US. That is at about the Cayman price point. Adding US bumpers, certification will bump this up higher in price ... not going to happen. $60K for a 5.5/140 car is a dog today. Even a Boxster S, not known for speed vice handling is 5.2/167 at 55K
