Early on we made the decision that if we were to hold this contest, in which we invite anyone to create an ad, in an open forum, that we would be summarily destroyed in the blogosphere if we censored the ads based on
their viewpoint. So, we adopted a position of openness and transparency, and decided that we would welcome the debate. (As an aside, we have been truly disappointed by the number of submissions we had to filter out
because of their vulgar content.) I won't bore you with the details, but the overwhelming majority of the 22,000 submissions thus far have been earnest attempts at creating positive advertisements."
I know GM is pretty open on the blog itself with allowing some very negative comments to remain (in fact, there was an article about it in the Wall Street Journal a couple of days ago) so I suppose this is an extension of that. Pretty impressive, actually.
Funny commercials!

Yeah I don't have a lot of respect for the ads. The only thing that is funny is that the ads totally backfired on GM...but they don't really need that now.
Many people use Tahoes for what they are designed for, towing, hauling, people carrying. And I am not one to talk since I drive a tiny car (though safe), but why wouldn't you want to be in a large, more safe vehicle? If I had kids, I'd want them in the safest thing possible, and a large, full frame SUV is a safe vehicle.
I vowed not to buy an SUV till I need it, but when I do I won't feel bad about it and I'll try to keep a sportscar around. They'll never make an SUV drive right
