The Good Drivers Thread
I have recently posted on the Road Rage forum where people are sharing their horror stories of aggressive drivers. I recently realized that I haven't seen a thread on NAM that congratulated other drivers on being kind to us on the road. I recently was passing through Alabama and had a semi truck and mustang yield their turn at a stop sign to let me go first
So lets hear those stories of good karma and congratulate those who have been kind and attentive drivers

I was a kind and attentive driver today. Does that count? The road was narrowing to one lane due to construction and instead of speeding ahead of a big garbage truck (I could have beat him
), I slowed and waved him over. He waved back.
I got a warm feeling all over.

While driving through the desert in NM last fall, we stopped to take pictures. Three cars (the only three) slowed or stopped to see if we needed help.
It's called Good Carma.
Couldn't resist the pun!
I read a challenge: this thread won't live!
This is my "help the fool" story.
I was bringing home my MINI from LA, between Barstow and Needles, on the old Route 66 (not freeway). The gas gauge wasn't going down too fast before, but now out in the middle of the freakin' desert, I learn how far below the red light it will go!
The very first vehicle, an older couple in a new Tahoe [Yes...SUV] picked me, up, drove to the nearest station, and took me back with borrowed gas can without a lid (I still see an indent on my palm). And he helped pour, without a funnel, the $4/ gal. gas into the tank. And they didn't accept my humble "donation." Despite my stupidity.
Does this qualify?

No tickets
Dunno if this will go down the drain because its much easier to complain about something to compliment them.
You might want to task this .,..
How many MINI drivers are so good, they NEVER have had a ticket (any moving violations)???

Years ago near the west coast of Fla. I am coming up from Ft. Myers northbound on a section of I-75 into Sarasota where there is a section of about 60 miles where there isn't an exit or a gas stop. I misjudged my gas-eating 1978 Yamaha RD400 by about 2 miles short of the exit and puttered to a stop with quite a load of travel/camping gear on board. First sheriff's deputy pulls over and thru his radio dispatcher we contact my motorhome GOOD SAM roadside service to get some gas. GOOD SAM, a definite misnomer, says because I am on my motorcycle that is just towed behind the motorhome they won't bring me any gas.
I thank the deputy and say I guess I'll just have to walk and he leaves. A few minutes later as I'm pushing the bike because I don't want to leave a loaded bike there, a classic hot rod pulls over and offers to give me a ride to the gas station, but we notice there is a swamp between the N and S bound highways and the ride would mean to the gas station and back south bound for 60 miles and northbound again back to the bike. Can't even tell where the S. bound highway is because of the swamp area between the two highways. I thank him for the stop and start pushing again.
Not more than a few more minutes another Deputy stops and I cover the whole story and he apologizes and leaves up the road.
No more than 20 to 50 yards of pushing I see a crew of guys working a field next to my side of the highway. I put the bike on it's sidestand, jump the fence and thru limited spanish and hand signals ask them if they have a gas can with them with any gas. "Si", and they loan me the can and I put enough gas from the can into the motorcycle to make it driving the few miles to the exit.
Now here was not one but a whole litany of road angels willing to help out one out of gas motorcyclist, everyone that is but the absolutely misnamed GOOD SAM (the ones with the "halo" on their stickers) Roadside Assistance Plan. TRUE DAMN STORY.

Me as good Mini Driver: About 3 weeks ago I pulled up behind a lady in a midsized car at the bank. She was pulled in at the oddest angle & approx 1" from hitting the big metal pole (u know the pole they always put at drive-thrus so u won't hit the building). There was absolutely no way she could move her car forward without hitting it. I was aprehensive about getting out & approaching her car at the teller window on foot so I got out & yelled "excuse me" til she looked back at me. She thought I was a nut til I told her to look at the pole. Then she yelled THANK YOU
THANK YOU

Other good Mini Driver: I always utilize a back way when trying to get off on Hwy 150 in my town. 1/2 the time when I try to go the back way I turn one road too soon which means I have to go around a strip mall & pull back out onto the busy road. One day during Christmas traffic I did my usual idiotic wrong turn & just when I though no one would ever let me pull back out onto the busy road....along came a Pepper White to the rescue that let me pull in front of them. Thank you Mystery Mini

Just today on the way home from my local Hobby shop. I was at a 4 way stop sign, as I pulled up there was a SL500 already stopped on my right. I thought he would go first, but he waved me to go and mouthed "nice car" witha thumbs up.
