I did find one station ( BP ) selling there high grade for 3.29 per gal on my way to work and thought maybe that company is keeping there prices low....Phat chance....the other BP near my shop is almost 3.90 per gal for high grade.
Just got word that Colonial was already back to 66% capacity this morning and has upgraded their predictions to be at 85% by late this weekend. That means they'll definitely be back to 100% of what the refineries can produce by early this week. Just like I thought.
And that means the 10 day supply that already existed will not be exhausted and will actually start being resupplied before those ten days are up.
All in all though the economic impact for the destruction will be huge despite any positive aspects from clean up & rebuilding efforts. I still see construction materials going straight through the roof for the next year but gas prices easing over the next two to four weeks. I don't think we'll see "normal" anytime soon but they will ease off from the highs you see now.

It depends on where on the timeline you're talking about. In the next two to four weeks it shouldn't change much. After two to four weeks I've heard wide predictions. Personally I think it'll come down to a national average of $2.75 after that. I hope it'll be lower but just because I can't stand SUV's I hope it doesn't.
It should continue to hit those high-pockets harder than everyone else.
Sorry but ostentatious behavior should always carry a high price.

I was looking around and found a website at home last nite call www.cheapgasprices.com ( or something ) which gave you different price ranges of gas in the country. Of coarse i cant find it at work but im sure someone on here will.
The world has gone insane...

That was this afternoon at a gas station a few miles away...
WHY!!!!!!
Despite this average price seems to be $3.16 to $3.20 for regular on the VA side of DC, however stations are running out of gas and lines are starting to form at the stations that do have gas... The weird thing is that the Gov says that the main gas pipeline is at 91% capacity...
The picture above is from the Shell station at Rt-29 and Union Mill Road in Centreville. Supposedly he lowered the price back down to $3.20 for Reg after several hours and then sold out...
There are also reports that many of the stations in the area are out of gas... Although the Exxon by Suds was still open (with a 20 min line) at 6PM...

Atlanta is "back down" to 2.83 for regular. I've seen much higher at 3.19 for regular but you've gotta shop around. It's pretty much going in the direction I thought it would as the pipeline continues to come back online. I think we're still experiencing panic prices. Give it another week, that'll be two since Katrina and most will be at about half way between what they were and what they see now. Again, this is just my opinion with no real intelligence behind it.

I just paid $3.47 for my mini fuel! 93 octane... put exactly $40.00 now I just hope I can make it last longer than a week this time... but my lead foot will prevail... (whispers away from foot "I will have to hit him if he doesn't stay good")

much to my surprise, i was able to fill up @ 3.09$/gallon just now.
earlier today, while driving around, i saw prices as high as 4.69$/gallon
and, lowest (prior to 3.09) of 3.35$/gallon premium
a large tanker truck of fresh gas showed up while i was there
(and the price of gas didn't change while the truck was unloading!!!)

While we Mini owners are blessed with above average gas mileage, as gas prices rise the question comes up is 92 octane necessary. Has anyone tried running regular, 87 octane, if so what have the results been? Does anyone know what the long consequences might be?
My MINI runs so smoothly and accelerates so well that I hate to try the lower octane gas, but $3.59/gallon certainly makes one think. I drive a Cooper with a CVT transmission.

Before the storm regular was $2.43 and is now selling at $2.85 here in the Okla City area. The wife and I have a bet going at where the price will level off at. Level off meaning for at least three or four days
She thinks it may come back to the $2.45-$2.50 range and I say ain't no way. The storm was the oil companies GREAT EXCUSE to jack the prices closer to and in some locations around the country over the $3.00 range.
I say in this part of the country, it may come down to around $2.65, but it won't ever see the prices of $2.43.
It took sometime to get the American driver to accept $2.00 a gallon, but it got to $3.00 much faster. I just don't see the greedy oil companies dropping the prices just because they feel sorry for us
I think they want at least $4.00 a gallon and they want to get it there sooner than later. Just my .02cents worth.

I hope your service manager replaces your engine for free also due to his smart *** recommendations.
Today I filled up my '05 MCS and paid $2.979/Gallon for Citgo 93 Octane fuel. The fill up came out to $36.08 for 12.111 gallons.
Citgo are the only gas stations in the Miami area that are selling 93 Octane for under $3/Gallon.
