Official Gas Price Thread

I paid $2.95 for 91 octane at the Chevron at Balboa and 163 in San Diego yesterday morning, and both the Shell and Mobil near work in Del Mar were around $3.09.

At $2.95, I'm paying about 11 cents per mile of motoring, but least my friend's BMW 530 is up to 13.6 cents!

Time to practice the ol' short-shifting, people! I'm thinking of implementing a manual version of the Corvette's 1-4 shift.

These prices are sick. Well, at least I'm not filling up my 330Ci 2.5 times per week anymore.

When I decided to get a more economical car as a daily driver, I was in between a MINI and a Prius. I got the MCS, and I've never regretted my decision.

At the rate we're going, we'll be that high by fall.

I have an '03 MCS. It took the longest time until I spent more than $18 for a premium fill-up. This morning I spent $35, and it wasn't empty when I pulled in. $2.639 per gallon and rising.

I won't tell you how much my wife's extension van costs!

Maui county typically has the highest gas prices in all of the United States, and regular has been over $3 per gallon there for nearly a year: http://www.mauinews.com/story.aspx?id=4205
http://the.honoluluadvertiser.com/ar.../bz/bz01a.html

That was when oil was $48/barrel giving the oil companies an excuse to raise prices quickly (funny how it never drops as quickly). Yesterday it hit $66.

My part of Michigan has the highest cost of gas. 2.91 premium. Although I only fill up once or twice a month so it really does not bother me. Even when we see $5 a gal it really will not bother me.

The 17% increase in natural gas price will be the real kick in the crotch this winter.

Oh and most new electricity production is based on natural gas, so that will go up considerably too.

$3.07 for premium tonight. $35 into the MINI.

Not to fear, we'll be longing for the days of $3 a gallon gas in the not so distant future.

$2.99 yesterday at the 76 on Balboa by Target.Plus it was an additional 10 cents a gallon to use a credit card. I think I'm going to start buying it on base.

OK guys this can work...if we all stopped buying gar at Chevron and Mobil on Tuesday of next week gas prices WILL GO DOWN.

Forward this to 1000 of your closest friends and all of your dreams will come true.

Forward to 500 and something nice will happen to you.

Forward to 250 and something half as nice that would have happened if you had forwarded it to 500 people will happen to you.

Oh wait a minute...maybe gas prices won't go down because demand is so high and we haven't built any refineries since the mid-90's. Naw...just forward this to your friends.

$3+ a gallon? Sure, we pay way over that.

Wait, you mean for Milk or gas?
Oh. Cows are rare in Hawaii these days.

Unleaded costco gas today was $2.45 a gallon, Premium gas $2.65 a gallon.
But
Walmart cheap milk on sale for $3.50 a gallon
I don't want to tell you how much is Safeway Milk-
It would make you cry.

Good thing my MINI doesn't run on milk or I'd be in real trouble.
Milk is for me.
Gas for the MINI.
Everyone is happy. Except the gas lines got kinda long this morning with the reports of higher gas prices. Drat!

everywhere in OC and most places in the IE are at $3.03 for premium.

To battle this, I'm running midgrade with, so far, no negative effect. Plus it saves me about $10 a week!

We really shouldn't complain. Got an email this week from someone in England that is paying the equivalent of $7.50 a gallon!

This past Monday, I noticed the Mobil station down the street from Bob Smith MINI was selling 91 octane for 3.49 / gal. It's the one at the Parkway Calabasas exit off the 101 Frwy.

Yeah, I work right across from that station. It's always WAY higher than anyone else. The funny thing is that I always see people there getting gas. Calabasas is strange like that.

Touché.

The fun part is that 75-80% of the price I pay for the gas is taxes.
