What did you pay for gasoline this week?
I passed buying the $2.99 full serve premium (Del Mar Heights Rd, San Diego) although there is no waiting.

WHAT!?!?!?!? You could buy a pack of cigarettes for that kind of dough!
Not that I would condone smoking, especially during fill-up - both are dangerous in their own regard.
WTF are we fighting for over there in Iraq anyway?

$2.59 for 91
it always amazes me when i watch the news and they say the highest gas is in San Francisco or San Diego and they show prices lower than what I pay in Santa Barbara.
I am glad the price is rising maybe some of those SUV drivers will mix in some walking or car pooling, ya right.

I gassed up this morning and I have absolutely no idea how much I paid.
I never even look. I can't do anything about it, so why bother?
It's not like I can call my boss one morning and say "sorry, can't come in today - gas is too expensive".
I have limited space in my head. I can't waste any of it on things I can't control.

Wow. I think that's all I *have* in my head, useless info about things I can't control.
Hope you're not married, and if you are, good luck!

I forgot I was in Houston yesterday and bought Shell at the airport for 1.729 (just looked up the receipt) for the rental. them guys with the SUV's (myself included) will rue the day we decided to buy the big rigs if this trend stays where it is or goes further north.......maybe we should like, drill for oil off our coasts (I'm ducking, I'm ducking)

I always hated the gas prices when I was attending UCSB... I think if they let that info get out, it would cut into the tourism industry.
just paid $2.23 in Campbell, Ca (but the most convenient station is about $2.40) This was for my Bimmer, still waiting on the delivery… argh…

ummm.. revenge for Sadam's failed attempt to assonate Dubya's dad? Make Halliburton rich? detract that the Saudi's had more to do with 9/11? Old white men's theory that wars stimulate economies? take your pick...

I will gently remind you that we are fighting in Iraq because our governement decided it could not afford to have a totally rogue regime in power in Iraq while it was bent on pursuing Weapons of mass destruction that could possibly be delivered to stateless organisations that would think nothing of killing hundreds of thousands of our compatriots, if they ever got the chance. (reason one of 750 thousand of them)
I will further remind you that the Halliburton company is comprised of over 100,000 thousand hard working american men and women some of whom are currently risking their lives in exchange for a paycheck so that you and yours can sleep safely in their beds. Their only crime, so far, has been to have had a CEO who opted to serve his country as Vice President.
You are not guaranteed any low price of gas, in fact the US has the lowest gasoline prices in the world, apart from a couple of arab countrie swimming in oil......
I think it was around $1.79 for 93 octane near Princeton, NJ but that was early in the week. No idea if it's gone up or down since. Probably up because I need to top it off for a long drive this weekend.
Perhaps a four cylinder diesel one ton pick up truck that can haul 2000 lbs and tow 10,000.....
. Maybe, just maybe, if gas does reach $3/gal. this vast armada of American towers will reconsider their urgent need to haul 5 tons of stuff around on a regular basis. Just a thought...
I remember reading a review of the North American spec Land Rover Defender 90 about 10 years ago which was written by a British author visiting America. He was so excited gasoline was so cheap here that we could afford to have a big V-8 when they only got 4 cylinder gas or turbodiesel engines because of their high cost of petrol in the UK.
I remember he commented that gasoline here was "cheaper than orange juice"
If we paid the actual cost to the environment rather than our government subsidized price, we'd be paying $5/gallon easily.
