2005 Subaru Outback
The next Subaru Outback.

There are definitely deals to be had on the current Outback. My folks just purchased one for well under invoice. The new one does look like a nice package though.

So, this is the light truck?
Subaru can kiss my buttocks. This car represents a disgusting shift for a company that I used to respect. Supposedly socially conscious people who buy this car will be laughable hypocrites. Why didn't they just call it the Subaru Loophole?!

Looks like a Saturn (wagon) crossed with a Saab (wagon). Doesn't do much for me one way or the other...but then again, I've never been a Subaru fan at all. I will bet, though, that there will be a lot of Subaru fans who decry the demise of the boxy look (sort of like what the Volvo folks did).
I like it better than the current Outback. I imagine one of these will be on the short list when my mother goes looking at cars this year. She currently has a '95 Subie wagon and an '85 wagon before that one. She's also looking at Volvos, but I'm not sure she'll want to spend that much on a car. I also doubt she would get the H-6 engine either.
