Really? Hmm...to each is own. It's a Bugatti Veyron. Fastest production car in the world:

253 mph
1001 hp
16 cylinders
4 turbochargers
$1.8 million

Overkill in every sense of the word, but an awesome piece of machinery nonetheless! ...in my opinion of course!

It costs VW 5 Mil pounds to make each one to sell at about 1 mil pounds.

It was built as a what can be done car, more HP per ton than an F1 car,W16 engine, body changes shape with speed as it self improves aerodynamics, it has no bonnet yet needs 16 radiators, at speed it will disintegrate its tires in 16minute but run out of fuel in 11. Oh and it maintains a substantial amount of interior first class luxury, not being a stripped out guts bearing monster. You have ot remove the key to lower the spoiler to reach the top speed.

Though I will agree there are other color options I'd pursue first, I also dont have the Millions to purchase and run one

0-200 in 15 secs. Bugattis are beautiful and have always been that way. Didn't realize they were that small though and would chose a different color combination, if I was a billionaire, that is.

Well, if I were a billionaire, I'd load up on all manners of old BMW M3 and 3 series before I'd even consider the Bugatti.

that is my goal in life, to somehow take a fully fueled Veyron with new tires for a few laps around a track with one long straightaway. I am envious.

BTW I think the BV is a work of art. some guy that lives W of me bought one of the first ones to the US a few years ago. I love every angle and inch and feature of this car whose engine generates so much heat it's uncovered. Dead sexy

Go on YouTube do a Veyron search and there's all kinds of fun like crashes, smoking Mercedes SLRs and Porsche Carrera GTs, unfair matchups with M3s and Vettes, a BV trying to beat an RAF fighter plane on a timed run etc etc. The sound of four turbos spooling up and the car taking off like a jet--then watching the rear brake spoiler deploy--is pretty cool, esp. when the other car that's eating its dust puts out nearly 650 hp

If I were a millionaire

If I were a millionaire instead of a thousandaire, I would have a Bentley Continental GT. Now that is truly a beautiful car. Will still be ordering a Clubman though in December sometime.

If I were a billionaire

I would collect historic Bugattis, and have a Continental GT as my daily driver.

But I would also have a Maybach 58 and have someone named Jeeves to drive it Just like Mr. Big.

Yeah, I read a test somewhere that clocked one 0-200-0 in just under 22 seconds.

Lol, something about the perspective of those pics makes the Veyron look tiny! I don't recall thinking it was small in person.

So you drove it, how did it handle?

I agree 100% - it's a beautiful work of art in automotive design.

Oh, you mean this:

and this?

This is still the most fascinating one though, IMO:

(Note: The only one I could find that also had a Porsche Carrera GT was filmed from a sport bike (Yamaha R1) on public roads... very illegal and not something we post here on NAM. )

I think there's also a clip of Porsche run with a Zonda and an Enzo... I love the Mercedes clip, so much drama! Yeah Baby!

What Id like to see is a BV vs. a Koenigsegg CCX...

And for those who think the BV is fugly, well, when U seen one up close, in person, that notion will vanish real quick.

It's not really small just very low to the ground with a low roofline, and when U turn the special key to put it into hyperspeed mode or whatever they call it (230 mph +) it lowers the car even further to barely two inches off the ground. God I wanna drive one so bad just to feel that 7-speed DSG setup geared thru that megamotor....

Well, to address a few comments...I used to think it was an odd looking car, but let me just say that while there are some questionable angles, photos do not do this car justice; It's much better looking in person!! I believe that the design is very much a function over form one anyway...afterall, gorgeous doesn't always equal aerodynamic. It is smaller than I thought, but the perspective definitely comes into play in the photos. As for the driving experience...I wish I could give you all a thorough, Top Gear style review, but I don't believe that I even reached 60 during my stint behind the wheel. That said, it gets there with a rush like nothing I've experienced before!! I raced shifter karts for a while and was an instructor at The Bondurant School for a bit as well...those qualifications, plus rich friends, a stint as a sales guy at a high end performance shop, and well, the gift of gab, have afforded me the ability to drive some of the most exotic cars in the world!! Let me just say that NOTHING compares to this cars fury when the right foot meets the floorboard! To top that off, the sound is intoxicating!! Anyhow, I'm a tad long winded, but all in all, it was an experience no car guy (or girl) could ever forget! Perhaps the thorough review will come down the road!

Some analysts believe that they will loose 5 Mil USD on each car because development reportedly cost $500 USD. They make money on each car individually.

The body lowers and and spoiler goes up and down and tilts; I guess that could be considered changing shape, but would not say that they body changes.

It has a total of 10 radiators:
3 cool the engine
1 heat exchanger for the air-to-liquid intercoolers.
2 for the air conditioning system
1 transmission oil radiator
1 differential oil radiator
1 engine oil radiator
1 hydraulic oil radiator for the spoiler

You have to put in a second key, that lowers the car and the spoiler and unlocks the speed limiter.

Please try and post accurate information

Moving on...

The Top Gear clip is still my favorite, the part when May reaches top speed always gives me chills.

Saw one of those at a dealership in Berlin. It's a marvel of engineering. Sadly in the near future I think like Mad Max we'll be calling it the Last of the W16 Interceptors.

I also saw one at a dealership in Berlin. It was in a very cool indoor automall type thing. Bentley, Bugatti, VW, and a few others if I remember correctly. I think there was also a little museum/display on the first floor.

The Bugatti drew the most attention, people were lined up around the 2-3 foot high railing that was protecting it.
