Motorcycle jackets.

This isn't auto related but it is for a motorized vehicle so ???

Anyway, a guy I work with just fixed up an older Honda cruiser-it's got Vance and Hines pipes and sounds very good. He needs a good jacket-maybe something with armour or just a good stiff leather. Any sugestions?

I like Vanson jackets. My old one survived a pretty nasty crash with no damage, at least until the paramedics had to cut it off me.

Look for something that has provisions for removeable/repositionable armour, including a good articulated spine protector.

Sounds like there's a story behind this...

Well, there was a *lot* of damage, but almost all of it was confined to my right leg (multiple compound tibia/fibula fractures, the end of my thighbone was sheared off, torn ACL, torn MCL, etcetera etcetera).

The jacket had to be cut off of me because I also dislocated three bones in my right hand (the bones that run from the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd knuckles back to the wrist).

Since the paramedics didn't want to pull the jacket sleeve down over my injured hand, they cut the jacket from the wrist to the armpit, and then from the armpit down to the waistband so they could just peel it off of me.

I saved the jacket as a memento, and have considered sending it to Vanson to be repaired, but I've already replaced it (yay, insurance!), so for now, it's just hanging in my closet, along with the trashed boots, gloves and helmet I was wearing during the accident.
