our FX is nothing more than a tall G35 wagon. we fixed the tall with some H&R springs. 280hp. AWD. Luxury features even the MINI doesn't offer. And with two large dogs and a kid on the way, two MINI's wasn't working for us (we did a road trip with the dogs and a small suitcase in the MINI over Xmas and it was clear that wasn't happening again ). We would have bought another Subaru Legacy GT wagon but it was cancelled for '08.

In a lot of ways, it's like a four door MINI, albeit a bit larger. The BMW X5 is about the same size...a bit compact for most. That's the reason for an X6 and X7.

I do find it silly to see all the SUV's on the road commuting, but my wife drives this one and she goes 8 miles each way so gas isn't a concern (even though it does better than our 4cyl turbo Suby did)

I'm really jonesing for a 535xi Touring. Makes more sense to me than an X5 or X6

Really? I've driven both and the FX feels (and looks) way smaller to me. The new X5 is pretty big, it has 3 rows of seats now.

Maybe it's just an illusion because of the FX's low roofline, dunno.

First glance at the first pic, I thought it was a CRX.
