If there is away i can have you as a coach let me know. I've never driven there before and could use a little help. Jim and Willium will be on the track and i was planing on being out front, no hat just fun.
Randy, the way to do that is to email Phil and request me as an instructor. You're first in line, so I don't see a problem. Copy me with the request, please.

Cheers,
Sid

If you're in Advanced, a coach is not mandatory. I'll be busy with the Novices, but we'll get together for a session in A for sure. No worries.

Just got the participants list for the February 10 & 11 Infineon NASA event.
Looks like we have (5) MINIs signed up for group 3 on Saturday.

Can't wait. This is going to be fun!!

Sounds good, let's make a MINI compound in the paddock. I'll bring my EZ up, my carpet and some more water. I'm coming in the night before to stake out a space.

Maybe get as close to the drivers lounge as possible.

Hey Jerry i found out that one of the Miata groups have a fundraiser at Thunder Hill on April 23rd. I was thinking it might be fun to go and see what they think about the MINI. They posted it on the REME site and aksed if any MINIs would like to join in. They have 3 groups A unlimited passing and B1 and B2 limited passing. I'll take B and you can have A. Let me know.

I don't think I'll have time with my other commitments. Go on up and smoke 'em for us!

Matt, I'll leave Sat morning from Menlo Park area to Infineon. Would you like to caravan together? I heard that the paddock may get very crowded, so I am thinking leaving early enough (5amish?) so as not to miss the space saved by kmickey.

Anybody from the peninsula wants to caravan together?

Mickey and I will try to lay out the compound. I'm bringing a couple of orange safety cones (they match my wheels) as well. I'll be there on Friday afternoon around 4 PM.

Cheers,
Sid

2/10 Infineon track schedule

$10 fee at the gate, good for all weekend.
7:30 drivers meeting
8:20 group 3, we're on track!
Not much time between the drivers meeting and the first session at 8:20.

Over 240 cars registered for racing and HPDE.

Take a look at Infineon's web cam and check out the paddock (camera 4):

Deadline driven - dang!

Having brake (pedal) issues right now - re-bleeding the system.
Looks like I'll get there at Infineon real late tonight.
I think the gates close at 9 or 10pm.

Matt,

Sent you a PM. Since we are likely taking very different bridges to Marin, i suggest we meet at the Shell gas station at Ignacio Blvd exit on 101N (which is just one exit before 101-37 junction) at around 6:10am? This should get us the opportunity to gas-up, get some coffee and be at the track at around 6:30pm.

The weather turned out just beautiful.
We had even less folks today - around 15 or cars.
The track started out wet and dried out during the day, enough to use the berms.

Well, Matt, thanks for the recognition. I would have been there earlier yesterday but I had to sort out a little problem . . . she said she was 18. She looked 20 . . .

Anyway, sorry we missed you today, it was splendid. Mickey dropped down from run group 4 to 3 to run with us. We had a great day. I got sideways at the entrance to 9 in the morning wetness, but that was the only incident. Clive tried his best to catch me. Every time I'd stuff a couple of Miatas in between us, he'd gobble them up and be right back on my tail.

But, sadly, no one passed me today, so I guess I'm stuck with the hat for a while longer. You missed your chance, Matt.

My favorite comment of the day: At the download session the Golf R32 driver said, "I looked in my mirror and saw those MINIs coming and I said, 'uh-oh, that looks like trouble!'" And it was. We ate him up.
