On MTTS Day 2 from Santa Barbara to Las Vegas we took the secret back road to Barstow. Here is some video following a new Mini GP on one section.

The GP is being driven by Steve from Texas. He took right to our California roads as you can see and did a fine job of Mini Motoring in the mountains.

I hope we get to drive with Steve again after he finishes breaking it in.

Thanks. We took this and another road instead of the 14 freeway. I think we made a good choice.

You definitely took the right route, ours was bogged with traffic, and I-15 is never fun to drive - way too straight. That was the real difference between day 1 and day 2 was that there was a severe lack of curves on day 2. Have loved every minute of the rally, though!!!

Yeah the rally has been fun. We did have to do I15 from Barstow to Las Vegas. There isn't much back road action out that way. But we skipped the earlier freeway sections. I have about 13 minutes of this video. There are more fun segments, but I need a place to host with higher size limits.
